2001 Honda TRX250ex with shaft drive - what torque setting should be used for the two nuts on the axle that must be removed to access the rear drum brake?

Even if you have another brand or model, let's hear what the suggestion is.

94-99 outer nut

Now that I solved that, anyone have any good ideas how to hold the narrow inner nut (41mm) while tightening the outer?

I bought a 15" adjustable wrench from Menards but grinding down the jaws is a little too time consuming.

you need a thin spanner wrench. got a welder and some sheet metal?
 
That's a good idea. Kicked around the idea of using the chop saw and hacksaw to cut out a tool but I like this idea better.

I already used channel locks on the inside and a big crescent on the outside but if that doesn't hold I'll need to do again.

Been a while since I did this But I think I use to tighten up 2 together then move to the out side one and tighten it.
But this was back on a 84 200m.
