Attn concrete guys!

Pouring a 16 by 26 shed, will hold sleds, mowers poss. a car on occasion. 4 inch slab 6 inch thicked edge, what should rebar spacing be? Gonna use half or mabye three eights. I was thinking 16 inchs or should I go one foot?

Not sure the answer to your exact question but wanted to tell you what i did to solve my concrete problems here. Im doing a 40x40 pour and am not a professional but wanted professional results for without paying square foot price..:face-icon-small-hap

A friend of mine is a framer and he told me that with all the trades peeps being so slow he has laid most of them off. This leaves a aboundance of trades job guys collecting un-employment that are very eager to help you with your project for by the hour cash pay. I put a ad on craigslist and got a 12 year concrete guy to pour my building and finish it for 15 bux an hour. You can get professional results for reasonable money right now. I would leave the re-bar spacing up to him.

Yep thats the way it's working these days. Some people are hungry some are not.

Now I dont know how much concrete to order(forms are up and waiting for friday to pour). Guys (3 different locals) that sell the concrete say 6.75 yards, but all the concrete calculators on the web call for 5.1 yards, then add 10% so we dont come up short and thats 5.75 yards. At 115$ a yard thats a big difference. If anyone wants to calculate it for me its 16 by 26 with a 4 inch slab with a thickened edge of 6 inchs by 1 foot wide. THANKS!

Always throw up some sidewalk forms incase you have extra. Never send an oz back.

In the mountians we pour 5 1/2" 4500psi concrete with 1/2" bar on 2'x2' spacing and drive loaders and concrete trucks over it.

Power skreet, bull float, trowels, c rakes are all sitting in the shed. The power trowel bit the dust when the roof came down on it.
