attack 20 pros and cons

My buddy just picked up an attack 20 at the snow show in Puyallup. He will be putting it on an 01 800 rmk. I did a search on here and it looks like the best position for hillclimb is reversed and powder/boondocking is running normal. Question I have is if run in reverse, how bad is it at boondocking/powder riding, and visa versa? We do a combination of both, any info or advice would be great before we put it on.
thanks

pros-goes uphill very well, cons-goes downhill not so well:) my buddie tried switching his to the backwards position and didn't like it, trenched like a mother!!!

I've had 3 of these tracks. Run them in hillclimb and the paddles will straighten over time and become a great track, but like Fordy says they're terrible tracks and you should prolly sell that one to him:D.

I ran a 162 in both directions, didn't really care for it, took it off and sold it. Bought a sled with another one on it. It was streightened, tried it, again really didn't like it so I took it off. Still have it if some one want's to buy it, pm me.

i would probably say that the attack 20 is one of the worst tracks arctic cat made. it is an awesome track in the steep and deep. any other condition besides that and the track is horrible weather going up a hill or down one. on hard pack days, such as "hero snow" that track will spin like a mother going up.......and down......well.........just make sure there are no trees in the way:D

the roost is kind of a bonus, don't know how many times i've stopped quick and almost been run over by the idiot behind me who thinks its ok to ride 5 feet behind you. i'm running a power claw with my mini flap so that won't be a problem this year:)

by far the worst track ever, I take it off your hands and save you from the dangerous down hill rides, trenching and all the other misery that comes with a T20.....

I've got the Attack 20 on my King Cat. I bought it in HC position. It climbs like no-one's business, but I've gotten real good at dragging a foot going down hill. You'd be surprised at how well that little bit of extra friction on the snow slows you down.

The thing I don't like most about the A-20 is that the ends of the paddles are very delicate. In the year that I've owned this sled, I've shredded the track. For that reason alone, I'd look into another track.

Personally I'd like to have a 3" challenger.

I have a 153 on my 97 RMK and I really like it. I have it the powder direction, But i cut the lip off of every other one and put screws in the ones that i cut off. It is still great in the powder and it grabs the hard pack very well. The best part is that I bought the track for only 100 and I long tracked my 700 very cheep.

As you can see some love it and some hate it there really doesn't seem to be a whole lot of middle ground with this track. I bought one last season to run on my m1k for powder and it was a huge improvment in the powder over my cp extreme but after seeing how well the powerclaw performed last year I sold both and bought a new powerclaw it real seams like the best all around track.

I run one in HC position that is almost all the way straightened out, I actually really like the track! They do suck until they straighten out, but they turn into a different track when they do straighten. Not to mention, until it does straighten out, I'm not sure any other track will stick with it in the hardpack.....seriously, it gets me into trouble in the spring.:D
