Assualt Shock Fabing?

Does anyone have a good link to someone who would cut down the factory assault shocks so they would fit on my Pro? I have a buddy who did Fox Floats on his Assualt and will give me his shocks if I can find someone who can cut them. Vohk use to but Erik said its a pain and he doesn't do it anymore. Any other options would be great. Thanks in advance!

Last year I called walker Evans and asked about cutting shocks down, they said cutting the shocks cost about what a new pair costs, so I ordered a new pair and sold the others, better option IMO

Try this guy...he will cut and thread the shock shafts for $10 each. He will also cut the body shorter and thread for additional cost to keep the needles 'tuned' to the shaft/body length. If you cut the shaft without cutting the body, you could physically bottom the shock out without allowing the needle to work correctly in preventing it.

I can't speak to the work quality, but that seems like a fair deal for what you want.

I have had work done by this guy. He does tons of write ups on Doo Talk for all kinds of sled builds and repairs. Pretty talented guy.

His name is Lynn Williams.

I had my Switchback Assault Walker Evans shocks worked over by Ian at Monster Performance and it rides great.

Often times, "slugging" or installing a spacer is a good idea if we are talking small amounts... as The Bob said...

But...

"Slugging" that much off the length would cut into the useable travel.

Collapsed length on the 13/14/15 PRO is 10.48" with 5.77" stroke. (16.63" extended)
Collapsed length of an Assault shock is 12.16" with 6.44" stroke... (18.60" extended)

You will not change the collapsed length with a slug... and the shocks would lack more than the 20% of valuable travel.

Cutting the shaft and body is the only way to keep the travel correct.

If you are going to get them cut...get ABSOLUTE assurance that they are going to be cut on both the shaft and the body... and not just "slugged" .
