Assault weapons ban proposed in Olympia

Please Stand-Up and Make Your Voices Heard!

A group of four State Senators has introduced Senate Bill 6396, legislation that would bring California-style gun-control to the Northwest and ultimately ban many semi-automatic firearms commonly owned by Washingtonians.

This legislation would establish far-reaching restrictions on semi-automatic firearms (dubbing them "assault weapons") and ammunition magazines. SB6396 affects every firearm modified to conform with the now-extinct Clinton Gun-Ban plus many other semi-automatic firearms that have no lineage to those rifles or any military-style orientation whatsoever.

Like the failed Clinton Gun-Ban that sunset in 2004, this bill is about demonizing certain firearms based on how they look, not about crime fighting. This gun ban scheme will only punish law-abiding citizens and will do nothing to curb crime or keep criminals from obtaining firearms illegally. This is simply another attack on our Second Amendment rights in Washington State.

Please contact both of your State Representatives and your State Senator TODAY at 800-562-6000 and politely urge them to oppose SB6396.

Damn!t!!! Why can't the gov't just leave us alone!!!! Trail closures, gun bans......

because you don't know how to care for yourself and the government knows better...

the other side also knows the majority of people are too lazy to write a letter, join the NRA, Blue Ribbon Coalition, etc... and sadly they are correct... people will ***** on a forum, in the bar, on the street corner, but other than that most won't do anything... but *****

Thankfully I am in the minority on this one ... Lifetime NRA member, and I've already wrote and sent my letters to the proper people regarding SB 6396 and HB 2477; and I haven't *****ed anywhere.

Just sent an email to all three of them in District 15 today. Hopefully they will listen and help kill this bill.

I will plead guilty to being one who would ***** but not actually do anything. But that is changeing now. I cant take it anymore and I am going to do my best to get involved.

Could you help me out and post names and addresses of who and where to write to? I spent part of last night looking for the info and there is a million different places to write to. What is most effective?

I dont even own a gun but I do think everybody should have the right to. Reading up on what has gone down in austrailia after they banned guns is scary.Crime and murder is up across the board there.
