assault vs dragon shocks

Hey, i was just wondering about the E/W shocks on the assault in 09 vs the E/W shocks on the dragon. The assaults seem like they are better, but i have never really heard and i was also wondering could u put them on a Dragon?
Thanks for any info

09 assault shocks will fit into any 08-10 dragon...i have a dragon 155 and put the piggy back assault shocks into it...LOVE EM

i am also curious about this. i have a 07 700 dragon rmk and have the walker evans in the rear but the ryde-fx off a 600 up front. do shocks make a big difference in just handling, controling, and other areas besides just a soft landing? was thinking about going with some fox racing shocks, but thought i would check the assault shocks first.

are the assault shocks as trouble-some as the regular walker evans on the dragons?

and also, i thought that you could not just use the actuall assault shock, but rather had to buy the assault STYLE shock in a different length for the dragons.

It really depends what you want out of your shocks. If you put the Assault shocks on the Dragon, you are going from your soft WE's (intended to be light and do well in the powder) to something that is made for hucking big drops and not neccessarily for powder. They are very stiff w/o revalving for your needs. The sled will be more difficult to put on it's side. If you still want a good sidehilling powder sled you might look for another alternative (maybe some floats). If Dan Adams is your idol, go with the Assault shocks.

i believe the dragon shocks are 17" c-c in length, and the assualt shocks are 18" c-c..

the sleds have different width a-arms, so the shocks are different in widths..

its not recommended to use longer shocks then needed..you can bottom them out.

IMO

so you switched them out and think its better? do like the front better or the rear track suspension better? can you adjust them alot more?

Well i never switched them out.. Heres my story...so i work at my local dealer and my boss done the same thing to his 10 turbo dragon.. well what happens with the stock walker evans shocks on my 09 D8 are sh*t.. and they always need to be recharged..same with the rear. i hate it when you ride and u get into some Hard or Soft snow and cant adjust your rear or front shocks to the conditions you are in....or even what type of rider you are..EX weight.. So i orderd the walker evans pigyback with coil over shocks through polaris.. they are basically what the 09 assault shocks were..but i think they are better..in the rear i can adjust on how stiff or soft i want my rear end to be. The front shock in the rear has just a coil spring to adjust and the back shock in the rear has a clicker.(piggy back)..Also the fronts have a clicker with coils on also...so when im in powder i adjust em light..and when im jumping vigoursly i make them both front and rear stiffer...I love the shocks and will never go back to them without a piggy back..or clicker.. i have had not a single problem with these awesome shocks and neighther has my boss.. Hopefully that answerd yourr questions..and i got cut a great deal since i work at a dealer....but i think for front and back around 1000 but its a great investment..:face-icon-small-hap
