Assault RMK suspensions set up questions

I just bought a used 2011 Polaris 800 Assault RMK, I havent ridden a sled in over 7 years. The previous rider weighed more than 100lbs more than me so I am trying to readjust all the coil shocks to my weight. I weigh about 160 geared. I adjusted the rear shock to the spec in the manual. The center rear shock seems to just adjust by feel (how much weight transfer I am getting)

But my question is how should I adjust the front springs. I am assuming that I should unweight the front of the sled and adjust them a few turns past where the collar contacts the spring. I assume this would be the lightest setting and then tighten from there in equal amounts when I am on the trail to suit my needs. Does this sound correct?

Thanks

You're on the right track with the ski shocks. start at 1/4" preload with the shocks extended and increase as necessary. It's not a bad idea to do this with the center shock as well, at least for a baseline. Considering what you weigh, you may be close to optimum at those settings already depending on how hard you want to hit stuff. As has been mentioned elsewhere, it's a good idea to move the front of the skid up to the Pro-RMK position for deep snow riding.

As I said in my last post on the Assault suspension thread, I have my springs at the loose end, and then tuned in the stiffness with more damping. Keeps the sled rebounding nice and slow that way. A slow rebound is my personal preference though. I have found that really stiff compression damping is key if you ride on edge a lot. When riding flat, less is more comfortable unless you are willing to charge the whoops hard, but then you're also limited in trail cornering ability with a mountain sled. Also, I weigh the same as you in gear but before avy beacon and pack.

X2 on moving the skid to the pro stance I did it this year to my assaults and wow! It climbs so much better now
