Assault gearing!

Hey Guys,
I have an 09 Assault with SLP twins, Carl's cylinder & case porting, Carls ECU tune, 50/50 cut on the head for 2000 feet. I run a Camo extreme 2.5 track with stock gearing. Pulling 74G weights to 8350, with lime green primary spring, 64/42 helix and stock secondary spring as per carls recomendations, although I wound up 6g heavier on the weights than they suggested. I did ask them to go hog wild on the porting and running a shorter track than most.

I max this thing out on the flat in about 500 feet, 85-90 MPH indicated and thats it, right where its geared to be. I have a different set of gears to let me max out at around 105MPH. I only go to the mountains once or twice a year and can swap back and forth if I have to. Basically going from 2.05 gearing to 1.70, more like an older RMK in terms of top end speed.

Thoughts, experiences, suggestions????
Thanks,
Steve

Did your track speed increase when you put on the camo 2.5 over the stock comp track? I am running 19/41 gearing, and the highest speed of 71 mph with the comp track, 62-42 helix, 68g mtx weights 2g tip 1g belly. This setup works great in the mountains but a little on the slow side for the prairies. Oh well i still have a blast beating every sled around outa the hole lol.:face-icon-small-hap

You will find a huge difference over stock. I am probably going to trim mine to 2", and run the taller gears. They are well known to be slow so hopefully surprise a few people.
