Hey yall!!!

I'm moving to Aspen CO in a couple weeks. Anyone have any good riding spots you could help me with. I normally ride in Wyoming so Co will be all new to me.

Thanks In advance.

Lived out there for three years myself. Elk Wallow is sweet, awesome terrain and some HUGE bowls at the end. Only problem is its been a few years now and I'm having a hard time remembering what road to get up there.... I'm pretty sure you take the Ruedi reservoir road up from Basalt (?) and go a ways past the lake. Maybe another 10-20 miles. Theres a trailhead up there somewhere. Could easily google earth it.

Also, the Flattops are accessible from Glenwood Springs most of the time, with every sort of terrain up on top.

If the yuppies in Aspen don't steal your sled or stone you to death for owning one. And or you don't get so sick of all the tree huggers and bunny lovers, that you stay till next winter. There is really good riding out of Glenwood Springs or New Castle for the Flat Tops. Not sure about Taylor Pass area but maybe. I have also heard you can access Grand Mesa from Glenwood but can't say for sure.

We have a club based out of Carbondale - Mt Sopris Rec Riders - there are 2 trail heads (1) Marion out of Carbondale or 4 mile near Sunlight mnt resort out of Glenwood Springs. This trail system called the SP trail can take you over 120 miles of trail with great in-betweens ...Like Electric Mnt Lodge basically the 1/2 way point and it all ends up on the Grand Mesa at Lands End and There are great lodges over there like as you may have heard of Thunder Mountain Lodge and Alexander Lodge . If you need more info use the contact tab on the www.mtsoprisrecriders.com website and some one will be happy to tell you all about it!

Thanks guys I will be ridine sunlight this weekend. I will join the club for sure seems like a great way to meet people as well.
