Asking For Your Support!!!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DELEGATES FROM THE REVELSTOKE SNOWMOBILE CLUB AND THE SNOWMOBILE REVELSTOKE SOCIETY ATTENDED THE 43RD INTERNATIONAL SNOWMOBILE CONGRESS RECENTLY HELD IN CALGARY, AB.

PURPOSE OF ATTENDING THIS CONGRESS WAS TO SOLICIT HELP FROM THE INTERNATIONAL SNOWMOBILE COMMUNITY IN OUR EFFORTS TO KEEP SNOWMOBILE AREAS OPEN AROUND REVELSTOKE. THIS HELP WAS FORTHCOMING.

More Snowmobile Closures?

The Snowmobile Revelstoke Society and the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club have unofficially been informed of the complete closure of Caribou Basin and the partial closure of Keystone / Standard Basin.

A letter to Premier Christy Clark (B./C.`s Premier) has been drafted outlining the concerns of snowmobilers in regards to these closures.

To sign a copy of the letter http://www.sledrevelstoke.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Letter-to-Premier-Christy-Clark.pdf
To read a copy of the presentation to the International Snowmobile Congress Attendees http://www.sledrevelstoke.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/ISC-Presentation.pdf
Please take a minute to read the RSC`s and SRS`s presentation to fully understand the issues.
Please send your signed letter to the RSC Box 1849 Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0.
We need copies of your signed letters. We will forward your letters on. Thanks.

The first map shows the closures put in effect by Gov. since 2000.
The second map shows the additional closures that we haven`t been officially notified of but are now posted on Gov. websites.

Here is something that just might make you print, sign and mail your letter of support. These areas remain open to heli-skiing.

For some reason I can't open the letter.

You may want to put something in the local paper and try to get the local business's on board. No sledders = no money. I know Zala's would hate to lose the sledders.

TTT....to date only 131 members have read this thread.
I am positive there are more than 131 members that sled in the Revelstoke area.....

So download the letter from Powder Puffs first post in this thread....we have to fight to keep our playground open!

Here is the letter to be signed... http://www.sledrevelstoke.com/wp-con...isty-Clark.pdf

Signed letters can be mailed to: RSC Box 1849 Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0

Hey Powder Puff,
Is there a email or fax number where we could submit our letters too?

It`s not too late and Dave thanks for bringing this back up.
Yes we have been in contact with the ISC and ISMA.

You can e-mail your letter to laroy@telus.net or sledrev@telus.net.
Your letter can also be faxed to 250-837-3524.

For 8 wks. support letters have gone out in the mail to the Premier`s office, 671 to date. We need more letters now. Copies of the letters have also gone to City Hall and the Accomodation Assoc.

The Club and Society have met with our MP and MLA.

These areas are closed now and we were the last to know.
We are asking for support to have negotiations reopened with Gov.
