aside from the side board coolers is there one in the tunnel?

Hi guy's been doing a lot of reading, picked up a 05 900 with 527 miles on it for a good price. Question I have is, The previous owner was worried about heat issues and I have read most of the posts on this, just wondering if there is a heat exchanger in the tunnel or just the tubes on the boards. My sled is up getting preseasoned and checked so I can't go out and look. The scratchers won't do much for in the tunnel and can't see how the do much for the small diameter tubes on the board, just saying.

Yes, there is a cooler on the back of the tunnel under the plastic rack. The scratchers do throw snow up at the back of the tunnel and into the middle of the track to lube the slides. If you have a ported track it also throws snow out of the back of the track onto the cooler. Dropped my temp 15 degrees when I ported my track.

I just have the regular spring type and I put them up when I back up. If you forget to put them up and back up or go up a hill and don't make it and roll backwards with them down you can usually bend them back. I carry an extra set in my trailer.

The cable type let you back up without damage. I haven't used them so I really can't tell you an opinion on them, but I hear mostly positive things about them.

If you run the scratchers down whenever you are on a trail that doesn't have at least an inch or two of fresh snow on top you should never have any heating problems and your hyfax last forever. I just changed mine for the first time and they showed almost no wear, and I don't run any idler wheels on the skid.

Cooler at front of tunnel also!! Loose radiator and use scratchers hyfax will last even without idlers!!
