Artic Cat Quads - Any good?

Kinda looking at a 2006 700EFI Artic cat....anyone have one?

I've never owned a quad, but I've ridden a Grizzly 660 and a Suzuki King Quad 700EFI a lot....liked both of them. Are the cats a reliable machine?

I don't have any brand loyalty in quads whatsoever....so unless there's something glaring I should look out for (or stay away from) I really don't care. Thanks,

Jason

Bought an Arctic Cat DVX250 last summer for my son.
While it needed a couple mods right away, it has given us ZERO problems since we bought it.

They are good quads and good motors not many problems with them at all but they are heavy and alitte low on the power end for their weight I think. Rode with a buddy that has one and just not impressed IMO. If I were you I would look in to the grizzly 700efi or even the king quad 700efi is a good quad also. What ever you do stay with the EFI you will not reget it.

Cat ATV and UTV

As far as being well built they are.
Power with cats new engine in 09 and later more HP than earlier models they make the fastest out of the box and that includes sports quads and it weighs just under 800LB."Thunder Cat" its insane fun.

I am going to be as plan as I can.

The cat 4 wheeler have cost me a lot of money and are a sore subject for me. I ordered my 09 in early 08 on previous sales. The economy tanked and so did my 4 wheeler sales. Needing to be as tight as you can in a down economy I did every thing I could to sell my ATV's even offering to send them back to the factory and paying a 15% restocking fee no dice cat would not let me do it. So as inventory continues to build having to up insurance and flooring cost i told cat I could not take anymore units at all. Well that was in Sept my flooring cost went to over 6k a month just for units that I can not sell. Well I hung in there as long as I could and eventually had to pull the plug and tell them that I was done I can not do it any longer.

As far as a business plan it makes no sense to sell cat wheelers. Their is a 500-800 margins and the dam things do not need repairs. If I see $500 in repairs in 4 years it very rare. They will usually replace the tires before i ever get to work on them.

Good for consumer, bad for business I suppose....I definetly see where you're coming from. Thanks for the info guys....I'm kicking around selling my bike and getting a quad, just because it's a little more useful for what I'm doing right now. Likely looking at 06-07 quads, not looking to spend the money on new.

ive got a outlander 500 maxxt ive got 27''s, mudlites 3100km second set 1st set was 26's not one issue, love it verry stable, great power for a 500 great on fuel and the ride is verry smooth.

I have a 05 Arctic Cat 500 with 9100 miles on it now. It's been bullet proof other than regular maintenance. Still drive it all the time. Excellent quad, I will be buying another Cat.

Thanks for the feedback guys....I'm really on the fence with this quad thing because it means getting rid of my dirtbike. I love the bike, but don't get much time to ride it....at least the quad I can use around the house, take my girl out, plow in the winter, y'know? Damn I'm torn haha
