Self-proclaimed victims of global warming or those who "expect to suffer" from it - from beachfront property owners to asthmatics - for the first time would be able to sue the federal government or private businesses over greenhouse gas emissions under a little-noticed provision slipped into the House climate bill.

Environmentalists say the measure was narrowly crafted to give citizens the unusual standing to sue the U.S. government as a way to force action on curbing emissions. But the U.S. Chamber of Commerce sees a new cottage industry for lawyers.

Saw that on Foxnews. I bet it's not limited to just Americans. Little island nations want the same ability to sue America. These fracking congressmen are going to destroy this country. Would one real American please stand up and punch these two idiots.

The provision, which was just released, reportedly would set grounds for plaintiffs who has "suffered" or expect to suffer "harm" attributable at least in part to government inaction. The provision defines "harm" as "any effect of air pollution (including climate change)," according to the Times. Plaintiffs could seek up to $75,000 in damages a year from the government, with $1.5 million being the maximum total payout.

I am a victim of the global warming lie. In BC we pay a carbon tax on fuel. It was made up to further tax us and infringe on our freedoms. Think of all the guilt the sheep feel while they drive there cars, better get some anti depressants.
