Are you 1,100 owners looking for a different fourstroke?

With all the rumors, I was wondering if there are any 1,100 Turbo owners looking for something new. I'm not.

Always looking forward to the new stuff, but there will be nothing to worry about this season or most of next. Let just ride.

Love the engine. Hate the goddamn chaincase. One and a half seasons now without reverse. It's ****ing ridiculous.

Enjoying my sled...

I've been enjoying the Cat M1100T. Mind you, it isn't stock (none of my sleds ever are). Yes, I've spent money on a Team Tied, Exit shocks, Evolution Powersports BC250 kit with all of the goodies, skis, etc, etc. Would it have been nice to have it all from the factory? Sure, but that is never going to happen, at least not in my riding career. I think Cat gave us a very good platform with immense potential - it has the ONLY factory built turbocharged mountain sled that handles well despite it's weight. Go buy a Nytro or Apex and boost it - cost is higher, warranty gone. I know my warranty was up the moment I bolted a BC250 kit on it, and I'm ok with that. Stock power was pretty good, but more is always tempting. I haven't blown a belt yet in 500 miles, and I'm not nagging my dealer about the crappy vertical post bushings, the reverse recall, or the rail tip recall. I knew from previous M-sleds that an anti-stab kit is cheap insurance, I don't use reverse much, and if I catch air, I don't land it with the throttle wide open - riding style may be part of why my sled has held together, I don't know. I'm not 28 anymore, and bought the 4$troke for the reliability of the engine and the better handling of the new chassis. If you bought the M1100T to ride bone stock (no pipe, ez-jacker, etc) and vented it (we've done venting on sleds for years), and finally ensured that paralellism, offset, deflection is correct (not all dealers do this on a PDI), then you have a legitimate complaint. If you've modded it, you are on your own, as you should be. I do not buy a new sled every year - maybe every five years or 5000 miles. I hope that the disgruntled owners find a solution that makes them happy.

My sled isn't the problem.
Lack of storms and fresh powder is.
Every time I've taken my sled out it has been an absolute blast.
Sure looks great in the shop while the east coast gets all the snow.:face-icon-small-dis

Motor is fine do like the snappy low end of my old nytro though like that throttle response better but rest of the sled makes up for it. Now if belts would last 2000 miles i would change it every 1000 just to be safe though.

1000 miles from a belt?

Must be a Yamaha thing to get a 1000 miles from a belt. My ski-doos, polaris sleds, and the last M-sleds never got more then 600 miles on a belt - ever. They were a bit down on power compared to the M1100T, too. I believe that 500 mtn riding miles is pretty good life from a belt on a sled with this horsepower.
I might add that in my neck of the woods, the majority of people who are blowing belts are ditch banging / trail riding them at stupid speeds. A mountain sled is NOT a lake racer, wasn't designed that way. Kinda why the manufacturers offer different models...
Yes, the M1100T isn't perfect, but it didn't cost a bunch more then a 2S 800 up here (they aren't perfect, either). It costs money to play in this sport, plain and simple. Although none of the new sleds are bulletproof out of the box, they are light years ahead of what we rode 5 years ago in terms of performance. Just my 2 cents

I understand the desire to mod, but

I wanted to be done with that. I've taken too many sleds so far that I only like them on full power. I ride the 1,100 T stock and not one problem this year. No problems at all. I spent enough on this sled I'd like to ride it for several years. I still have the original belt on, 1,000 miles now and looks good.
Last year I had all the little assembly problems. I had my doubts, but not anymore.

Not looking for anything new but wondering what you know (op)? Seems that you have an inside look at the future judging from posts in the last couple of years.

I also think the 1100 is a great engine but as everyone is finding out the driveline can barely handle the stock power.

A different fourstroke would be the the lowend snap of a 2S with the long highend torque of the 1100.

I think everyone will be very pleased with what is next in the cat four stroke segment. I love the 1100t motor, but the future looks very good.

have you done any venting?

Im going to be snowchecking this year so I find this thread helpful, I was unaware of all of the issues. Are there rumors of a new four stroke, I've only heard of the new two stroke rumors.

I've had a theory for some time that this chassis was fitted around other motors than what they came with. No proof just a gut feeling.

I remember one of the guys in here that stated in a few years the 1100T will have a legendary status in the four stroke turbo world. Can't remember who said it but he was one of the minnesota guys on here. That was two years ago, so someone was privvy to what is in the pipe.

No I haven't done any venting.

I have had the right hand and thumb warmer go out and loose coolant hoses that were fixed at the dealer under warranty.

IMHO, Arctic Cat has given us the ultimate sled - one that can carve like a two stroke, but can make the big reliable power that only the Yamahas could make before except better because all of the tuning can be done without piggybacks. Undoubtedly there will be new iron eventually, but we are in no rush to replace what Cat has given us. Now if only they could build a clutch system like a Yamaha.....
