Are we a self destructive group?

With all of the fighting amongst ourselves, are we our own enemy?

Of course there is the anamosity between real sleds & snowhawks, but that is mostly because of one clown trying to promote the hawks by putting down the real sleds.

Then there has become the divisive wall between the 4 stroke & 2 stroke owners.

I've also heard derogotory remarks about riders on "old" sleds.

Do any of you really think less of someone because of the sled they drive?
(I am certain the answer to this is yes):(

Food for thought.

I agree, poking fun every once and a while is fine but enough is enough sometimes. Anybody is welcome to ride with me no matter what they ride, even a Snow Hawk. It don't matter to me what kinda sled you ride as long as you like it.

Could be worse, your name could be Clinton and you ride a old snowhawk. As far a strokes go, "he never had sex with that woman". :face-icon-small-win

Snowest needs more hippies, we love everyone!:)

I find sledders to be by far the most self destrutive when it comes to land use issues. It isn't going to matter what you ride pretty soon because there wont be anywhere but trails left to ride anything on.

While we are argueing about real sleds vs snohawks, 2 stroke vs 4 stroke, twins vs triples and red vs green vs blue vs yellow the greenies are working together to make sure we have nothing to fight over.

I could not have said it any better than you OuraySledder. Thank you for stating what I am always thinking. :(

Very sad indeed.

Ya, I've seen the "love" you give to GW.

Hippies and lefties love everyone...unless they dont share their same views and then they hate them with a misguided passion.

Hippies are ok for the most part though...If you can get them to shower more than once a month ;)

The guys in my riding group always rib each other about everything.

"well theres your problem, you've got a big Ski-Don't sticker on the hood!"
"Maybe it'd run better if it wasn't a Polaris"
"Ya know cats don't like water, so why do you even try bringin one on snow?"
etc...But its all in good fun, we couldn't care less what kind of sled you ride.

The only people I have problems with are the ones that never listen to anyone, go tear up the trails and peoples personally property resulting in a trail getting shut down. Or the kids out there that talk **** about everything, but if something breaks its "mommy, daddy I need a new sled!! waaaaaa"

some people take stuff to seriously and it does not matter what you ride we all want the same thing, to ride in the snow. who cares what you ride it is all preference and money

it doesent matter to us what you ride, i have to admit somtimes i think twice when sombody new is with us,about taking them out 40 miles to nowhere, some guys dont do any maintenance and it makes me think, is this guy going to ruin the day, as for the forum i dont think ive ever bashed anyones choice in equip. i have however gone after bashers with a vengence, sometime this summer im going to try and get some kind of form letter together, that explains to the state legeslaters that we as outdoorsmen contribute a lot more to the economy ten fold then the other side ever dreamed of, and hopefully distribute it to every atv, snowmachine, gun shop there is, with any luck they will make copies and make it easy for there customers to sign and mail one, just think if the energy thats on this forum was directed at the powers that be.

I don't feel sledders are self destructive to any degree whatsoever. The problem lies in the fact that they could care less if they are politically correct or not. It seems as though if you are going to be progressive in this day and age you need to be politically correct. The politicians (the environazis) take every simple off color blurb and run with it, sad but true. I'm going to continue on being as blunt and blatant as I can possibly be and enjoy the heck out of slamming people into their place as need be. If everybody would make an effort to communicate in a frank manner maybe something would actually be said.

and, i dont even have a sled.. havent had one since my early 80s john deere
liquifire!!!

man you are going out on a limb with that but i agree ride your sled or in your case not but who cares? We need to worry about the non sled group taking away our areas not the sled making the marks on the hills.do you really care if buddy rides X sled and you ride P C Y S ?You ride yours he rides his not the other way around.slam away if you want makes no diff. to me i will spend my time chatting about good times not bad and working towards a better tommorrow. flame away!Later sledders.

Your view is skewed by the negativity that is spread on Snowest. :)

This weekend I rode with a four-stroke, I was on my old school mod sled, and the 07 Rev we were with was the one that broke down and wouldn't rev over 7300 rpm. So that disspells all your theories. No "walls" between the 2 and 4 stroke camps, old sleds can outperform new sleds (on some days anyway!) and no, I don't think less of anyone for the sled they ride.

I'm just happy to be out there, taking it all in and enjoying the scenery and having great times with great people. Real riders don't care what other people ride, real snowmobiling is about riding, not sitting around trying to determine who's pee-pee is bigger by how much was spent on their sleds.

But I do agree with you, if as much effort was spent fighting the good fight as bickering, sledders would be far better off

The constant smack is whats annoying about snowmobiles. It is so subjective, every sled, even 2 of the same model will be different, but the guy that won the drag race by a bumper length wins, and it causes a snowmobiler to do irrational things. You dont see that in other sports as much.

Mafesto:

I don't really say anything other then to get people going around here. (Tailgate closed thing) but if someone shows up on a 98 or something I just think, well he must be about ready to get something new and that's about it. If they show up on a hawk, so what, it's not what I would buy but I would like to try it. Same thing with the 4 stokes, I can't stand Yamaha for various other reasons and issues I have had and as long as the 2 strokes keep doing what they are doing I'm on them for quite some time. I have a 4 stroke truck, and ATV and they don't nearly give the satisfaction that my 2 stroke sled does.
