Are powder valves needed with the slp stage 3 kit?

I am getting a slp stage 3 kit installed by my dealer. I see that slp recommends the powder valves but my dealer doesn't recommend them.
What do you folks recommend?

The dealer's service dept doesn't like them because they can allow belt dust into the airbox. But the service dept services sleds, they don't ride them.

If you're worried about stuff getting in to your air box mount the power valves on the inside of the air box and use a Frog Skinz pre filter over it or just buy some pre filter material from SLP and make your own. But in my mind the little they are open isn't going to hurt anything.
