Some of you claim your taking your XP's in to the dealer to have the driveshaft welded. I read somewhere on here that the dealer has instructions from BRP on how to weld the shaft. Are they doing this as a preventative measure before it breaks or what? My dealer has seen nothing on this from BRP. Any additional info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Many dealers are in the dark and don't know what is going on. Some dealers are welding up shafts as preventive measures. Some think the drive shaft breaking is a rare thing and nothing needs to be done. Boy are they stupid.
Some dealers have reported that they were told by brp that welded drive shafts would not be covered under warranty if they broke. Some people are just welding them up them selves.
One dealer posted up that they heard from brp's race department that they were welding in four spots 10mm holes 10mm in from the end of the hollow part of the shaft.
I don't know what I am going to do yet. Pray it doesn't brake I guess.
