I just bough 1979 Arctic trailer from the estate of my neighbors dad and was curious if anyone had any info on the trailers. Google didn't show up much. I haven't seen another trailer like it, as far as for its size, it has a tilting dove tail instead of a full tilting deck. It's a double axle with a 3,000 lb gvwr, 2,000 lb carry. My worry is the tilting dove tail, it's a cool idea but doesn't seem all that sturdy the way it raises and lowers. Is it worth putting money into? Needs new wood deck, lights and tires at minimum. Or better to buy a newer trailer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are a few pictures, in the deal I got a small trailer and compressor.
here is the hinge area
and this is how you tilt the back. It's basically the same jack one would use to jack up the trailer but it's mounted horizontal and moves the bars fore and aft to lift the tail up and down.
