Arctic Cat or Polaris

Looking at buying a 2016 snowmobile having trouble on brand. Im really looking at a Arctic Cat m8 limited but been thinking about a Polaris 800 rmk Pro. Like not having so much weight and more options. But unsure about durability and build quality in the Polaris. Like Arctic Cats new clutches also. Don't like the not having track options though. The engines on Polaris are iffy to me to. Haven trouble deciding. Any help?

Both look like awesome sleds. Can't help. I know which way I am going but that shouldn't matter to you because you don't know me or know how I ride. I wouldn't buy in to all the durability bs. They have both had their woes in one way or another. They have both done a bunch of things to fix them for 16. I would decide which you like the best and base it on dealer support and go for it. I bet either way you go will be a ball.

First model year of anything... Cars, trucks , sleds, boats, always have issues to be worked out!!! Generally , the last model year before a new chassis/engine change is made, tend to be the most reliable. Most all the bugs have been worked out!

what he said
and one has a proven motor the other has 15 year of unproven motors.

I came off of Polaris in 14 to ride Cat. There are many days when I say I miss my Pro. hahah, I like my pro climb 153 but I had to make some changes to it to make it easier to handle. Such as Ice age Pro motion, C3 post forward. When It comes down to it, the cat is a lot more to handle when in most riding styles. Cat is capable but Im wore out at the end of the day. The pro by far is an easier sled to ride. The new 16 is even easier than the 15. If you like the back country the Polaris will leave you feeling better at the end of the day. If you are out east and do a lot of trail riding then the cat would be a better sled. IMO Both are good sleds, just depends on your riding area. But a first year sled is always a gamble like anylizer stated. Another thing to think about a first year sled is the resale value. If it turns out to have some issues you will never get a dime out of it just because of the history it may have with first year gremlins. It wont matter if yours runs like a top, it still will bite us. Im on the fence about the new Pro. myself. I would look at the skidoo also, they are very competitive with the new XM chassis against the pro. plus they have a motor that is proven. Just a thought, I am considering as well.

You guys are right on first year sleds having bugs to be worked out, but the axys was introduced in 2015 so things like electrical issues or small fitment issues should have had a chance to be worked on already. Also for snowcheck you get a 4 year warranty from polaris, so that makes me feel a bit better.
