Apex Turbo Clutching Advise

I just got my Impulse turbo kit installed on my apex and was hoping for a little clutching advise.

How much weight are you guys running with the supertips and what angle on the shockwave helix? Paul sent us different primary and secondary springs as well that we will need to install. Im running 15lbs of boost at about 6-8K elevation.

Also, I have pullers, but do I need any special tools to change the helix and springs? I had to buy a special holder when I owned a doo.

Any help would be appreciated.

Im running a bit more boost than you. I run supertips and Im running 90grams. I run a shockwave turned out a turn and a half. And a Cat, sno-pro green in the secondary. No specail tools, except some popeye sized forearms to deal with the secondary. Be careful, when they pop apart, they can really pop apart.

Do a search on clutching, you'll get alot of responses. This will get ya close.

Good luck and have fun, a turbo Apex is a real kick in the ars.

Give Val Simmons or Brad Story a call... Val makes his own weights and he does some custom work to the secondary. He'll point you in the right direction.

I tried a few different things last year and a buddy did Val's setup... needless to say I just got my weights last week and did the secondary mod, I should have done it last year.

Thanks for the advice. I will also be running the cat green secondary spring and a slightly stiffer primary. It sounds like 1-1.5 turns out on shockwave is the ticket. I'll try 80-90 on the supertips.

By the way, what's the optimum rpm to run at wide open? I've heard 10,800 is max hp?
Thanks
