Thinking of switching from a 16 wide to a 15 wide on my Apex pro's and con's I have a 16x2.5x162 on now thinking of going to a powder claw or just a 15x2.5x162 extreme any ideas?

would definetly recommend sticking with the 16 wide 2.5 extreme. the apex needs the extra surface area. if you go to the powerclaw you will be disapointed. i tried a power claw on my nytro for a few rides and wasnt happy sold it. went with the 2.5 extreme just rode it 2 days and it is way better in the powder no comparison.

I put a Power Claw on my Apex and it works great. I looked at the weight difference between the 16" CE and the PC. The extra 10+ lbs of rotating mass associated with the CE made me go with the PC. If your boosted 16"CE all the way, if not the PC may be the better choice. What ever I lost in floatation I gained back in trackspeed.

another thing to consider is that the powerclaw doesent seem to be a very durable track....i have seen several falling apart with low miles. just my .02

I made this same post at the end of Dec. I went with the 15 extreme and it worked great. was on a trip with 3-4 ft of fresh and that sled worked like it never has before! Even did a little drag racing on the trail with a noticable gain in traction.

The 15 CE is kinda what I am leaning toward I like the 2.5 but I think the 16 is just to much to try to side hill an already heavy sled, but I do love my Apex just trying to make it a little easier to ride any interest in my 16x2.5x162 Challanger Extreme no missing lugs should still be worth $475 obo let me know.
Thanks Mick

I just put on a Camo Extreme 16 X 162 X 2.5...love it.. also installed Outlaw clutching and geared it down. I can sidehill just fine unless the snow gets really hard...trying the Burandt/Rasmussen techniques and that is getting to be less of an issue.
