i have a new 40th nytro and don't feel all that happy with the stock track. i have been talking to several people who feel that an apex track will fit in a stock tunnel with a few adjustments. these being, longer rails from an apex, different drop brackets, and a few bolt adjustments at the front of the tunnel.does this sound correct or has anyone done this?

You bet. Got mine in backwards. Very tight. 
it fits but its tight....no rubbing here but I made sure there wasnt one bolt thread or rivot in the tracks way....good track on there me thinks!!
