Apex or Nytro

Hello everyone,

Need some input here, dad just told me he is ready for a yamaha, He wants the apex mtx. I told him to also consider the nytro mtx. He definatly wants as much power as possible and will probally turbo, or supercharge, down the road. Is there a pretty noticeable power difference between the two. Does the nytro chassis feel better? Etc. He is a very agressive rider and is coming off a 2002 rmk 800.

Thanks for your time!

Power wise, I'd say the Apex engine should, or could have more potential for HUGE power..
But I think in most situations, a Nytro engine should get the job done. :P

IMO, the Nytro handles and feels better.. Depends on what feel or ride the person likes or is used to I spose.
Nytro is much more 'rider forward' and thus feels more so like other rider forward sleds.

There are some vids comparing Nytro and Apex turbos against each other on the hill..
The Nytro takes the Apex in a few cases. (assuming boost to boost)

I think the Nytro is a better choice, if not for resale alone. But there are still plenty of guys that are picking up and building up Apex's too, so they must work well for some!

*man, do I want a cheddar werst now....lol*

You can get stock Apex's a little cheaper than the Nytros right now. The Apex is a beast and you can string that motor out! The Nytro sits more like the forward rider position (IMO), so coming off the RMK he might like the feel of the Apex more.

I run the Apex stock and it's heavy when you're stuck, but I feel the weight balance is good so it doesn't feel bad. Either way, get reverse!

Good luck.:beer;

I started last year riding a Nytro (stock) then ended up buying a T-Apex. I haven't been disappointed. Yes there is a huge weight difference but both are heavy when they're stuck. Its just that usually with the Apex I'm stuck where no one else can get to me (note to self always bring shovel;)).

I think both are very well balanced that you don't notice the weight issue. As for turboing, I've never been on a T-Nytro but I'm sure it will do most everything an Apex would but still be lighter.

Like I said I wasn't disappointed with my choice.

Good luck:beer;

Apex versus Nitro

I have ridden both. I own a boosted apex, I like them both, they both are well balanced. I think if both are boosted they will perform very closely. The reason I bought the apex, was for the strenght. IMO the apex is much stronger. As much as Yamaha over builds there sleds, I was very concerend that I might destroy the front end of a nitro.
