Anyone weld M1000 cranks?

Anyone had their M1000 cranks welded? I have a crank that is out and need some repairs. The mag is out 8 though and the pto is out 7, the flywheel is bent too. The flywheel has made light contact with the stator. So to keep this from happening again can the crank be trued up and welded? Its no wonder the thing shakes like a scared dog.

We can true and weld it. I would discourage welding, as we usually only use this procedure for race applications. Once welded the crank is no longer serviceable. It's a one shot deal.

Usually anything over 5 out is getting real bad, although I have seen a couple new sleds in that range.

3 tho is about the end for me after 5 the clutch start to take a beating.
the crank pins on the m1 dont suffer as bad as the poo when pressed apart for keeping in place.

Are you guys measuring at the outer part of the taper or at the seal area? The flywheel face in wobbling in and out 30 thou. Have you had good luck with cats reman cranks?

half way between the two. the cat crank is the best bang for the buck. around 700. the last one i got but its bin a bit.

Yes the reman cranks are a grat deal. We have them on hand so we can turn the crank exchange around in one day.
