Anyone using a fuel primer on their Turbed M?

Hey,

I had Some issues with my TM-7 not starting after having it upside down...

It happened twice, pulled it over till I had cramps that made me think I either had a hernia or a ruptured appendix LOL (seriously)...

Both times pulled a plug, found that it was bone dry, poured a bit of fuel in the cylinder... Started er up...

It would start but barely run and would die if I added any throttle... Did this about 20 times then I got it going by doing really quick throttle blips till it got past it...

The thing is hard to start the first start of the day too... I heard some people have installed primers... Anyone have experience with em? And if so what kind, and where did you get it?

Thanks:beer;

Fuel

You know you can pour a little fuel(little in intake of turbo) in the intake and it'll start starting after a couple of pulls, but you have a good idea my buddy does have a primer for his system. It gets really bad the colder it gets(on first start up).

Putting a turbo on a 900 efi and the shop that supplied the parts suggested a primer and yes it helps and i have a battery and a switch to start the pump no problems so far.

I can begin with explaining the startsystem of a stock M sled: When you pull the rope it gives current to the injectors so they open.And fuel pressure is from the fall, thats why the outlet is so high in the tank. It does not get the el.pumpstarted before the sled is fired up.

When the sled have been up side down it can be very hard to get it started because its not enoug fuel in the line.

Also if it was very hot when it stopped,the fuel inside the engine evoporaise and disapare.

I use to stop it for the day with dailing in high numbers on the BD 3000rpm Low setting.This way it wash down the cylinderwals and also leave the engine primet ,so its able to get it started the day after when its extreme cold.

It sounds like you have a external pressure regulator that is leaking back into the tank.Is the return to the tank low? It should be at the same high as the outlet.

Add a primer...I've got one...it's easy and cheap....a couple of pumps and it fires right up.
