Anyone try the THING can on the XP

Not "first hand" but i have 2 buddies with Things on the 08's, said they were great. No loss of power, good sound and a nice product is what they told me. I know Turbo Al and his products always seem to work great. I had a thing on my M7 and my Rev, both worked awesome, he feels the Thing works wicked on the XP and between that and the above that was good enough for me. He develops and tests at true elevation for us here riding in BC, not at sea level or 1000' feet.

Mine should be here on thurs.

Paid $350can plus shipping for the black one. I think he wants another $100 for ceramic chrome finish. I like mine, not too loud either. Doesn't seem to have that blistering screeming sound but a deeper tone which I like. Did not notice any gains but definatly no loss. under hood temps are better.

Do they make 2 models this year? The "quite" Thing and the regular "Thing"? All the ones I heard last year on XP's were loud. I had one on my 08 M8 and the quality and sound were top notch.:beer;

I gotz to wait another week, went for the ceramic coated and there getting coated as we speak.

As far as volume goes, I found the "thing" on the XP to have a fairly Deep tone, not rediculously annoying like many "tin" sounding ones ive heard. Too each there own im sure, but I thought it had a nice tone.

I have a THING can on my '08xp 800 and I LIKED it with the stock pipe, plus it allows more access to the chain case. I had to put a hose clamp around the hook on the can to hold it to the sled, otherwise it kept coming out of the exhaust hole...Problem solved!
Now that I have added a Dyno Port race single and 'y' pipe I LOVE it. When you get into the pipe it completely changes tone to a bad mo fo sound.
