Anyone try the Passage Resort Lately

Has anybody tried the Passage resort lately, either this year or last year? How does it compare to Bear lodge for rooms, dining, and amenities? We drove from Bear to eat there once last year and the meal was a disaster. They did try really hard though to make it right. Wondered if they got things right yet. Looks like it would be a nice place to stay at.

stayed there last feb. and couldn't ask for a better place, good people, good sleeping, good food, good riding, ya you get the picture everything was good already two trips planned to go back this year

They switched ownership last year around march/april if i remember right. I was kinda of a disaster the last trip we took, they didn't want to give us the same rates on the rooms that we had booked and didn't know how many people their rooms would sleep. After we got past that they treated us pretty fairly and we didn't have any complaints, too bad the snow sucked.

passage

We stayed there last year for the second time , first time was ok but there was a few issues such as luke warm breakfest, tough getting around the parking lot, and a little unorganized. want back last year hearing about the new managment hoping these issues had been taken care of , over all I think last year was a little better than the year before but still seemed a little unorganized & the breakfast was at best luke warm again.didn't feel like eating any other meals there after that,

hope the new managment this year can get some of this worked out, great facility with the new motel and all & they had a great deal on the rooms for a while last year, I'll be looking at some feedback on here as to how things are going this year , hopfully good, would like to stay there again. JMO, Ken

They had a contest on here about renaming the place. Don't know how it came out or if its still going. Stayed there last Feb. It's ok but not like Bear lodge.

Stayed There Last December, February, and August. It was cheaper that the Bear Lodge, but There is more action at the bear, it is where everyone hangs out. When we got there we had to switch rooms because the toilet, lights, electrical outlets, and heat lamp didn't work (all the rooms heat lamps are broken.) The food sucks their, The staff is lazy as hell. Pretty much the only positive thing about that place is that you are 1 mile more south if you are going to ride there, and it is slightly cheaper than other places.

Anyone know if they finish the new road from Dayton to Burgess.

Road down the mountain to dayton is not finished but they are doing a temporary Paving job. Going to be interesting this year. Ate at the passage during elk season this year and had good food. Can't say on the rest of it. Bartender did say the owner was looking to sell it tho. So once again it will have new management in the future. Someone needs to buy the place that knows what the hell is going on.

I agree someone does need to buy it that has a clue and wants to stay longer then 6 months. It as a great set up!

Also someone other then bear lodge owners need to buy the passage. Nothing improves the lodges on the MTN like some good competition to get money.. Look at what happened to Deer Haven and Meadowlark on the south side when they had the same owner, went to hell.. And now the owner of South Fork lodge owns everything on the south side. Hope things shape up over there also.. not sure if they will though. Be hard as hell to run 3 lodges and a ski slope all with the same owners.

I have a friend that was trying to talk me into going in with him and buying the Passage, but all the further we ever got was a bunch of miss information and was never even able to get a straight answer about the owners name or what they would sell it for. I hope someone is able to buy the place that has a clue of how it should be done. The way it has been run the last couple of years must make a good tax write off for someone!

heard some great news today when i was there about the new owners hope its true i would love to tell ya but i would hate to say it and find out it was just a rumor.. and if its true sounds like the middle of november they will take over ill give ya one hint .. bear..

I hope you're wrong but I know they wanted it. It will be like Tog. pay the price or drive an hour each day to play.

Yes, they are nice people, but their only compition will be from the economy! I'm a nice guy?? but if I have the only bed in town, I'm going to make some good money to rent it to you! Look at the price of their sled rentals and compare them to going to W. Yelowstone where there is some compition.

Hey, they are not the only ones. Yes, there's Bear and Arrowhead and the Passage, but don't forget about Wyoming High Country and of course Ranger Creek Ranch! Our rates are $79 per night for a cabin for up to 3 people, $14.95 per person after that up to 5 people. Best food on the mountain, full bar, great hospitality, free wifi, hottub.
