anyone running a supercharged nytro?

SC Stage 2 Nytro

I am running a Stage 2 on a Nytro, have had some bugs to work out but am totally happy at this point. I am running 12 lbs of boost and am really impressed with performance.

I have built 5 stage 2 kits to date with 2 more scheduled. Very happy with the performance. There is a lot of fine tuning, and additional items that need to go with the kit, but it rocks hard. Instant boost, no lag. A very good tree sled or boondocker. The turbo is better for big boost and wide open areas.

Woooooo!!!!!!

I would like some feed back as I am heading that direction. Thanks.

DON"T GET ME STARTED!!!!

to late:

1. Broken taper locks (wrong torque specs)
2. 8 hour install (bull$hit)
3. Need fuel regulator in most cases (Stage 2)
4. Gems controller (POS)
5. Water in oil tank (update)
6. Need air intake system if you are in powder.(MPI engineers disagree)
7. Nobody knows $hit at MPI for tuning
8. Cuts in and out with quick throttle movement (MPI working on problem)
9. Coolant line at distribution block needs rerouted (MPI says that my two kits are the only ones) bull$hit, other guys PM'd me.
10. Everything is extra, extra, extra. A/F, regulator, air intake you have to build, different pulley's to get right boost.

Before I have to kick you in the jewels, look elsewhere. MCX kits are working good.

I have wasted three weekends trying to get this sled working. Going again this weekend and going to try a BOV, and other tuning.

not really hopeing to hear all that. I was taliking to Hartman performance and he says the stage 1 is working great. I just liked the instal compared to the turbo.

MCXpress install is similar in time. There is more cutting and drilling than MPI says.

I keep referring to MCX because I know three guys boosting with them and working good, nothing against anybody elses kits I just haven't rode with anybody else

MCXpress install is similar in time.

Ya ok??? Head shim, take out the motor ect. The kits rock but install takes a wile for sure that is why I paid to have mine done as I just don't have a few days worth of time to install it.

i have a apex stage 1 s/c not a nytro but here's my 2 cents anyways.bypass valve and a cold air intake are a must.i did both and what a diff in performance.snappy throttle responce with no hesitation all the way through to w.o.t.but it's gonna take some tuning.no major problems to date but never know whats going to happen.good luck dude.

I forgot a few items.

Have to run 110+ fuel with a stage 2 S/C @ 14 lbs boost. With a head shim you can get away with Premium pump gas.

You can adjust your boost easier with a turbo.

Parts are in Canada for turbo's. It costs $100.00 in freight and brokerage everytime I need a part from MPI.

I installed a Phazer kit,a cold air intake is a must, the throttle response is amazing, the blowing out oil is more than annoying, had to build a oil catch system, keeping a close eye on the belt tension is a pain,as it is not something that is easy to do on the trail, and it just is a pain to keep tight.

I got the mapping nailed, and I think that keeping the air intake cold is key,I have the intake set up like the Boon Docker side mount,a little noisy ,but it works.

Love the performance,hate the maintenance.

I'm running at 12lbs boost, mix 50/50 race fuel. I had to figure out the hard way that the clearences on the taper locks are very important. Had I realized this i would have paid more attention to it,as it caused me alot of greef the first couple of rides out. Now i have it correct and installed a fuel regulator as well and now i love this sled. I believe all boosted sled if you look close at them with have a fuel regulator on them. My buddy DLUX is running a mcx turbo and it rocks. We follow each other around and both kits although different work GREAT!!!! About the only problem you'll have, that i have already seen this year is i hope your strong because NOBODY can get to you when you get stuck way past all your buddies!!!! They are gonna hate you!!! Good luck with your decision as you can't go wrong either way. There's always answers on here if you have problems. Now that many others have installed kits we know what is needed to solve the problems. Just follow the dirrections good and take your time and you'll be fine. Travis
