Just wondering if anyone got there hands on an SLP pipe yet? Mine is still on order. If you do have one.. how is it? clutching changes?

according to my conversation with SLP yesterday they still dont have a production tooled pipe made yet. Should be soon though. Once you get please keep us up to date!

Love slp products but not really liking the "must run" power comander with the pipe deal. so you need to buy, can, pipe and pcv..suddenly bd turbo is lookin cheaper and cheaper...lol....:face-icon-small-coo

same thoughts here, i ran their combo on my 09 from y-pipe to can, no PCIII on it. they said these new ones are cheaper because they is no y-pipe, but add the PCV in there and they are more money. i'll let someone else run the mods this year and see what works and what doesn't.

Yes and the other thing is with all the pipe makers, I want to see back to back dyno runs stock vs new pipe. As these new motors become more efficient the gains become less and less...if you are getting lets say 6-8 hp on top and losing 5 ft lbs on the bottom for 700 or so bucks i'm staying with my stock pipe and can and my 2 year warrenty if it goes "boom" Now if I pay 4500.00 for a turbo and pick up 85 ponies welllll now were startin to talk...:face-icon-small-coo

Without the PCV I bet you are right 6 to 7 on top and low end/midrange down. I would like to see the overall gains without the PCV? I bet it won't run as well as stock! $70 a BHP thats a few trips this yr!

Nothing has really changed here... back in the day...you ALWAYS had to re-jet for a pipe change... basically a pigggyback-box is an electronic jet.

Upping the power generally requires that you change the fuel delivery.

The biggest benefit from aftermarket parts when it comes to this type of thing... they do NOT have to meet EPA requirements (yet) besides sound levels in some states.

I'm glad to see that SLP is not rushing something to market.

Very true.

Any ideas why this new sled cannot be made to run with the pipe by a simple (and free) reflash to the computer like it has in the last 5 years?

Agreed, and what I get from that is SLP is doing it the right way instead of squeeking by with the fuel trim.

For what its worth I called Aaen Tuesday and their pipe is still testing as well. She wasn't sure when they'll have their ready either.

Like MH said, I'm glad their not just rushing them out to consumers. I'm thinking I'll actually wait until next year, I don't want to be a guinea pig.

Agree...the more efficent the fuel curve is on any motor the harder it is to mess with the computer, and the smaller the gains are. The big question ,is adding 6-7 hp worth 800-900 bucks and bye bye engine warrenty?
And back in the day, plug reading, jet changes, test I've got it spot on and rippin in a few hours...today....unless your running motec electronics and have your laptop along you are at the mercy of the accuracy of the programmer and your controller.
Hopefully slp and others will hit it perfect and give us a nice pipe/can combo that works well and produces a nice increase for a reasonable price..:face-icon-small-coo

Thanks for all the replys guys. I do have the PC5 on order also. I will let you know how it works for me, when I get it installed. I have already installed a wideband O2 sensor and air/fuel guage, so I can read and download stock and Pc5 mod. calibrations. Stock is set up pretty good. I dont think there is much room for improvement or a need to try to change the programing here. By the way I got my replacement A arms in that were back ordered. Ride on.

My wideband 02/AFR gauge and data reflects the same on the 800 both at altitude and flatland. It could use some coolant temp controlled fuel at altitude for riding around town on a cold engine if I really get picky...

I have the SLP pipe and PC V on order and am anxious to try it. I have read some reports from the pipe testers that the stock engine runs a tad rich when you get the pipe nice and hot. Are you guys seeing this with your A/F equipment?

My dealer told me this week for pipe kit/PCV. Called yesterday he said 2-3weeks out yet. Have you guys heard anything about running a head with the pipe kit?
