Please share your setup equation if you are. I am fairly close to dialed in, but I just can't get this thing spot on. I have a set of Mikunis and Lectrons so either setup might help. I am currently running 10-66 weights and contemplating a drop to 10-64. But that isn't all the problem. It bogs and backfires from an idle. Seems to build heat fast and loses power when it gets hot on a hillclimb. I have had anywhere between 230 and 490 mains and 40 to 55 pilots in the Mikunis, 7-2XL and 6-2XL rods, power jet closed, with a pair of 5-2XL rods on stand by for the Lectrons. My findings are that it likes to run on the lean side of either setup. If anyone could share their carb setup with me or the tricks you've had to have another engine builder do to this engine, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanx in advance.

i'm in a raw/dragon chassis with a similar set-up, i too went to 10-64's for top end, my carb jets, are 440, 55 and my mik's have a 125 starter. 3 turns on power jets at 2500 starting alt. then to zero at 6500. air screws are at 1/2 turn, and fuels at 3. thats a bit rich of an idle at elev. but if i'm up there all day i turn them down (have burned pistons on return to home so being cautious)
has worked so far hope it helps

When you say fuel is 3, you mean that's where your needle clip is, right? I assume you have the 40mm flat slide rack carbs with power jets instead of compensators? Gonna try your set up today but I don't think mine can handle that much fuel. I'm starting from scratch as a wise friend thinks my choke was being pulled just slightly. I disagree as to how smoky it got going back up with pilots. Will report back with the good, bad or indifferent. Thanx for the info!!
