Anyone running 155 tunnel with 163 or 174 rails and track ?

Yup. Did it last year with a 155 to 163. Tunnel length is fine and the 163 rails are a direct swap on the skid. I think it looks better with the longer track and shorter tunnel myself.

Left the belt drive alone, nothing changes there between 55 2.6 to 63 2.6

I ran a camo extreme 2.5 and it was a snow condition dependent performer. I’d get the Polaris 2.6 myself if I was doing it over again.

I did this on my 12 and 14 pro, 155 tunnel with a 163 track. Just used oem rails, direct swap. No issues at all.
We did the same swap on a friends 16 axys, again it worked great.
As for gear with your belt drive, you can install the 13-15 pro gears for a little lower gearing. Use the pro gears and your axys belt, works perfect.

Was thinking of this after I seen the Burandt vid. Not sure I'd want the longer track but it got me wondering what needs to be done to put the 3" 162 powerclaw in the 163 skid? Just drivers needed or is there more too it?

Drivers and anti stab kit

There are other options to NOT trim the rails and have to run an anti stab kit. Get the Avid drivers that have the extroverts in the center vs. the standard style that have the extroverts running in the clipped windows.

I used to do these changes by looking at the factory specs for the sled you have (155) and then with a 163. Get the parts that are different. From above, it's rails and track. Should be an easy one. Make sure to verify anything that impacts drive ratios. Clutch spring and weights, gears (pulleys), etc. Factories aren't stupid (most of the time) and the work has already been done for you with an all-around set up - and a GREAT starting point for your new set up. Then tweak as you feel needed.

I saw that too. Interesting. The Instagram video was just a teaser.

I've been wondering if this would work as well, but do a 155" and go to a 174" track with 11" idler wheels instead of the factory 8" .... You'd have to have a custom set of rails designed for proper spacing with the larger idler wheels, but that might give you just enough clearance to be able to run a 174" track in the 155" tunnel ....

If I could make that work I'd probably sell my 174" I have right now and go back to a 155" and just upsize the track :)

I agree a 155 tunnel with 174 rails would looks sweet. I wonder how much better handling it would be. I wonder if ice age makes any rails that would help. Thanks for all the good info and help in this post

Does anyone know if the rear skid on the 19 with react rear suspension is any different than the 18 skid
In the parts break down the rails are the same part number. So any changes would be shock calibration not physical mounting locations. I do know there are changes to the arm mount points between the 174 and the 163/155 ones. I believe the drop brackets are further back on the tunnel for the rear mount point.

What if you get your “insert bodypart “ caught in the track? The flap on the 155 to 163 set up looks like it would protect you from getting sucked into the tunnel by the track but the 155-174? Also how would you even run a flap on the set up?

I would not worry about falling into the rear of the track as I where a teather. An as for a snow flap I would not be running one at all. Every thing I think we are talking about here is for a better handling strickley backcounry performance buggy. Not your topical trail mountain machine. Also thanks for the help finding the rear skid changes. Of just springs and Hyfax nothing major

Does anyone no a good way for me to trade or sell my 2018 brand new 155 2.6 track for brand new 163 2.6 track or is there a better track to try to use like power claw

The powerclaw 3” is an amazing track on the axys. Put one on my sidekick axys last year
