Anyone rode whipsaw???

i would also like to know.....maybe hit it up next saturday, im thinking there would be atleast as much or more then up on the coq, its basically the same mountain range,

I went there today and it sucked big time, first time being there, went up the road 5km and i was riding on ice, only other people were farmers with 1992 sleds, im not sure if i kept going if i would of met up wih some snow but me and my buddy just left and went to the coq and they had amazing snow there, to bad i broke my trailing arm on a jump....

I rode from the highway, like i said it was my first time up there, there was hardly any snow, the road was basicly solid ice, and we kept going downhill so we got scared and left.

I wanted to go further because its like that in graystokes in kelowna but all the mountains nearby had no new snow, no trees had snow so it looks pretty crappy so we turned around and headed somewhere where we knew had tons of snow.

Do you normally have to ride in along ways to get to the good snow if there is any up there?

cause ive heard from a few people that its awesome up there, playing in the trees and lots of meadows. :(

you have to go way further than that buddy... drive in that road maybe 2km and then unload or u will be riding on gravel or ice.... u have to go at least 5k to get to the good snow... if u go more than that you are going the wrong way.. i would still be concerned about stumps...

atleast 5k, if i go more then that im going the wrong way, consfusing me sorry lol.

So after 7k total i should of been hitting the good snow, well that sucks but i just highly doubt it would be good snow 2 more k then i went.

the coq is really good, no need to worry about stumps very much except for the big ones but there pretty obvious to see and sparse.

I want a new riding area cause im tired of the coq and was hoping whipsaw would eb that place since i got a cabin at sunshine valley.

the T intersection is about at 5k up the road some people park there if the road is plowed i think. i usually drive up to 10k and then take the right fork...which serves as the parking lot, whipsaw should have as much or more snow then the coq has, i havent been up there yet this year, gonna prolly go on saturday but i heard that its super deep with not to much base, alot like the coq is, overall a very good area and not very far ride in if you drive up to 10k

yes its much better if u drive way up and unload... the first couple k after the highway can be ugly though and if icy shuld only be traveled with chains..( we dangled are 30 foot trailer off a bank when we did not make it up the first 1000 feet!! had to get a tow truck... there is a sign for granite i believe and from there on the snow should start to get better... if you go right at granite its more meadows that require more snow to be good and are lower so get less snow.. and if you go right you get to the alpine alot faster.. either way gets u to the same alpine area... i prefer the lower areas to the alpine but snow can be a factor in lower areas.. pretty safe area overall... there are very very few areas that would even count as hill climbs... may head that way for a mid week ride depending on how much work i get done next couple of days... does not get the same amount of snow as the coke though.. but less people and less extreme... more fun for me anyway.. live to ride another day... those pics of 10k are scary!!
