Anyone ride a Suzuki DRZ-SM timbersled/track set up?

I was looking at a 03 DRZ-SM super moto with a 434 big bore kit and is street legal.

I was wondering if anyone is riding one or has ridden one and what they think of it for snow.

I have lots of street riding years, and a little dirt, but only ride on a huski-450 and yetti track last year. It was a blast so I was thinking of getting a snow bike set up this year.

I like the DRZ-SM because it is street legal, a good cross over bike, and has a larger gas tank than a dirt only bike, electric start, headlight and heated grip possibilities.

Down side is it possibly weighs 50lbs more than a dirt bike.

I know there are better bikes out there but I can't afford a new bike and this one is less than the track kit.

Thoughts and comments appreciated.

Where do you live? Traditionally it would be underpowered and heavy.. That being said it
If it gets you started it could be the ticket...

Riding in Alaska. Wanting it to ride in the low lands and hills in lower snow conditions when I don't want to ride the 151 summit.

Looking at the 121" raw timbersled kit or similar kits.

I have only seen one post on line of someone riding a DRZ-SM so I guess it can be done but I have not found any specific mounting kits for it. I don't want to buy it and then not be able to mount a track kit to it. That is my biggest concern.

I also want something street legal so I can ride on the street or take on dirt road rides in the summer. If I love it I am sure I could upgrade bikes down the road if needed.

I am not sure on HP ratings as I have not found any for this bike yet vs a regular 450cc dirt bike like most are using.

the torque is supposed to be good on this bike which is good for the track kits.

Hi, I have a drz400sm with old track kit (explorer) i know, its crap vs timbersled. I want to buy a raw kit me too..

From factory the drz is underpowered but its easy to mods

Stock =33-35hp

On my drz i have bigger carb (fcr39), full exhaust yoshimura, cam yosh, porting and racecut. Bigbore 434 with high comp base gasket. Its a blast in the snow. ~48-50hp

Its heavy but with change of exhaust front headlight, small flasher, etc you have a good drop in weight..

To me its a good bike reliable to begin.

Ps: sorry for my bad english :p

Thanks for the help. The one I am looking at has the 434 big bore kit, bigger carbs, full fmf exhaust so it has some good mods and should be similar to yours.
Calling timbersled tomorrow to see if they have a kit for the bike.

Any problems with carb ice up, snow clogging etc.?

No problem with carb, I have a k&n filter with pre-filter

I have issue sometime with snow/clogging around shifter. But you take a small tool like a key wrench to remove the ice
