ive heard frog skinz dont let enough air pass with out other venting, but i was thinking about glueing pet screen to the aluminum hood vents and i think i still have some slp material i could do the side panel vent above the clutches.

had my sled parked outside and there was a light snow and snow was everywhere by the clutches and oil tank pouring in from that side panel vent.

i did my iq nose vent, just removed vent, spray glued the vent and pressed the screen on and re installed...

I did mine. No glue required. Pop the clips off, use the vent screen as a template, put pet screen on and reinstall the vent screens.

I've made a lot of vents with pet screen, but don't make any for clutch side without prefilter material. Same goes for air intake.

What exactly are you guys calling "pet screen"? I have several vents in an IQR hood I need to cover and haven't been able to find anything so far.

Its "pet proof" door and window screen. You can buy it in rolls at all the big box stores ie: Lowes.

Pet Screen is made from vinyl coated polyester. It is much stronger than traditional fiberglass or aluminum screening.

Works great, easy to cut, install, stays flexable.... and a roll will do about 10 sleds! Eric

Did mine tonight. Got charcoal non coated aluminum. Traced the vents by cutting around them with snips then held it on and made slits where tabs go with a razor.

Just an FYI that's not the screen you want to be using. That stuff will ice over. Plus it gets ripped/torn very easy by tree branches.

If you don't use the Pet Proof stuff its not worth doing. Eric

Its aluminum and pet proof. Its screw driver proof i know that for sure. Its not the plastic crap.

It doesn't actually need to be 'pet proof'... I don't remember the last time my hound dogs tried to get under the hood of my sled via the vents. :face-icon-small-ton

Joking aside, the 'plastic crap' is the stuff you want. We all know how well snow sticks to raw aluminum and the screen you used will likely be no different. The vinyl coated stuff actually sheds snow really well and its incredibly strong. I even coat it every couple weeks with synthetic car wax (since Im waxing the sled anyways) and you can't get snow to stick to it to save your soul. That raw stuff looks awesome on your sled, but I'm afraid it won't perform as intended. If you do keep it, let us know how it goes.
