I know this is a sled forum, but I'm hoping someone might help a fellow sledhead out. I have a 96 neon that won't run and need to use a running car to put my computer in and see if that is the problem. I have already replaced every sensor that could cause the problem and spent to much money on this thing and don't really want to buy a $300 dollar computer and find out it is a wiring problem (that no one can seem to find). It will only take about a half an hour and it won't mess up your car. The test car has to be a 96 neon with a dohc engine and a manual transmission. If you have a like car and are willing to help me out let me know and maybe ther is something I could do in return. I am a certified ski-doo, can-am, sea-doo mechanic. The car is at a shop in peterscreek and we could set somthing up so you could stop by there and have the test done while you wait.

you replaced a bunch of sensors, what are the codes you pulled from the computer?

I have seen a few PCM's fail and throw flase codes or cause driveability issues, but they are typically older PCM's, like 91-93

Did you ever pull the codes?
What about the basics? checked fuel pressure? checked for spark?

Clogged cat converter?

When you say the "car wont run" what does it do?

I dont have a Neon but I do fix alot of different cars

Don't have any spark, the only codes are a no spark code. Tested cam position sensor it is good( replaced anyway) tested crank position sensor, it's good (replaced anyway), ingnition coil is good. I get signals to the pcm to tell it to spark but nothing out. This all points to the pcm, so I bought a used pcm from the junk yard from what was supposed to be the same car, Still no spark. It also has a new timing belt and I have tripple check the timing.

Did you verify power to the coils. Key on there should be 12 or so volts on the orange wire at the coil. The computor provides the ground for the coils. The ASD relay powers the coils. Make sure you have 12v at the orange wire or replace the asd relay if not. A neon shouldnt be that hard to diagnose unless the shop it's at is clueless.

verified power to coils, no ground form pcm to tell the coil to fire, the problem is nobody is confident enough to gamble to 300 bones on another pcm. The other option could be that the pcm is not getting a proper ground for that circuit but the wiring diagrams do not tell you which wire grounds that cutcuit to the chassis.
