anyone modify a sno-bunje

Wondering the same thing. The big bunje comes with a strap that you can use like a handle so you don't have to haul both styles. Its not as good as the big plastic handle for stretching the bunje out. I have a couple of big carabiners because the darn hooks are so small they won't go around the average ski loop. One end should have a bigger hook if not both. Concerned a carabiner will dent the inside of a front or rear bumper so haven't used one for that.

Just use a pull start plastic handle. It already has a hole in it that fits the bunje hook perfectly.

will have to try a different handle, tried one laying around, didn't fit. will have to locate a sled handle. but still i don't trust that hook to stay hooked up

was thinking, to cut the hook off and then attach a strap with a pull handle and just a strap on the other end. may have to take the red cover off.

may be easier to just make my own puller with some stretch cord?

I used a aluminum billet pull handle drilled hole to fit hook and cross threaded nut on hook and it works great. I dont think I would of had to do nut but did any how so not lose my pretty handle ! Or drill hole in hook and put pin in hole. I now use the cobra the most as it longer and buds dont run you over as easy !

Yes, I put a handle on it.
I went down to the local hardware store, and in the electrical section purchased a piece of 1/2" or 3/4" plastic conduit about 8" long with a bend in it.
Then go to your local motorcycle store and buy a "soft loop" tie down extension. This is a piece of nylon webbing about 18" long with a loop on either end. it is very strong. Run this through the bent piece of conduit, and then connect the 2 loops to the hook on the end of the sno bunje. The result is a very strong handle that is good to pull on. Total cost about $4.

Fortunately I have not gotten badly stuck enough to need to use my new snow bunje yet.

Those hooks should be bigger too. They don't fit the sled loops on a lot of sleds. I think the soft loop idea is a good one. Almost anything would work for a handle then and easy to hook to the front bumper, spindle or ski loop.

imdoo'n if you make one make sure you put a plastic sleeve over it. That is what makes the snobunje safe. If it comes free it's not going to snap forward and hit you going 300 MPH!

I took the plastic sleeve off and had my tailor put back pack material on them, very strong and takes up way less space in the tunnel bag.

i'm assuming the nylon material on the backpack.

i'm still leaning to the idea of hook removal and some sort of snap on that will allow a handle and a strap or a strap to strap for sled to sled. just don't like the open end hook, as it looks like emergency visit to me. may have to remove the red plastic cover and see what is under there, just thought someone may have done it already.
