Grand Mesa, CO Skull found...
GRAND JUNCTION — A Grand Junction dentist has used dental records to identify a skull discovered on Grand Mesa as the remains of an Iowa man who disappeared almost 25 years ago.
Dr. John Bull says the skull found in October is that of 26-year-old Mark Delmege of Des Moines.
Delmege vanished in June 1983. His vehicle was found near Grand Junction about a month later, but he could not be located.
His brother, Mike, says investigators told him the skull was found about 200 yards down a ravine from where the vehicle was parked.
Bull says Des Moines police asked him to compare the missing man's dental records with cold cases on the Western Slope. A match was found with the skull.
Mark Delmege would have turned 50 last month.
The cause of death is unknown.
