anyone like their stock 09 clutching?

Maybe I am the only one. Had an 08 XP 154 and it was horrid until I put in one of DJ's kits. But my 09 163 is running excellent. Right now 300 miles stock clutching pulling and maintaing 8100 all the way through a climb around 42-45 mph track speed in about a foot of fresh. Get on the trail wide open right about 8300. Clutches are getting pretty darn warm still, but 300 mi and belt looks great. I am sure there is room for a bit of improvement but not sure if I wanna touch it, maybe just throw in some vents and ride. So is anyone else likeing their stock setup? Oh and I am riding 7,000 to 9,000 ft.

Ours only showed 35 mph on a deep climb, we gained 5-7mph and cooler clutches right away with clutching and there is more on the table.

Ya I was plesently suprised with how it is performing. Maybe later in the year when snow piles up more I may need some changes but its working good for now.

Not happy with my hillclimb at 2400' Engages to high. Won't hold rpms. Pulled cords at 70 miles into breaking in a 383 belt. Before that I put 100 miles on a 377 and it didn't look new by any means. No cords pulled though. I put 50 pretty easy miles on it and then gave her hell for the last 20 before I smacked a rock. I never got a chance to check alignment before I hit that rock.

I just dont like putting along at 20mph doing 6000 rpm. Once you throttle down and the clutches shift it is great. I love the back shift also..

I tried the 09 setup in my 154" 08 and was not impressed at all.
It was fine on the road to the deep snow, but would only pull 7800 rpm in the deep snow on clicker 4 and the clutches were very hot.

The next day I went back to my 44/42 helix and stayed with the 09 ramps
The sled pulled 8200 rpm all day in the deep snow and the clutches warm.
On the trail the runs 6500 rpm at around 40 mph.

Now that my pri isn't sticking I was able to check out my clutching. New belt lasted yesterdays ride, 70Miles of hard riding.

Stock, Clicker 4, 8100 RPM, 40-41MPH track on deep climbs, clutches are too hot to touch no matter when I check them (trail, boondocking, climbing...all wicked hot). Vent kit on order, will clutch/gear soon.

I'm thinking of marketing the “XP Muff Pot”, hooks to your clutch guard instead of the can. :beer;:beer;
