I have seen a few of them locally in NW Montana. I will try to describe them as best as possible as I want to build one.. they are SWEET!

they just look like a normal deck sitting on a truck, but they have some sort of hydraulics or winch that allows them to have the ENTIRE deck lay flat on the ground. so its like a table for the 2 sleds, just drive onto them on the ground clamp em then whamo... they thing lifts em back up into the truck... I love building things and figured this would be a good project, just need to get some of the details figured out first.

Cool. BUT what do you do about the sleds that hang out longer over the deck?

they have the extended wheel arms to keep em from smacking down.... I found out and looked at em more, dont think im gonna be making one, dont have the time or $$ to put in to build such a creation... and I want something I can swap in and out fast if need be... those things are damn near part of the truck when all is said and done.. heck, you could make a nice one out of the bale beds for pickup trucks!!

Mark Hoffman at CMX in Clyde Park had one a few years back that was not as "Rube Goldberg-ish" as the one in the vid by Cats meow. It was simpler and I think it did not sit flat on the ground just slid back and tilted down. Looked real nice, and looked spendy. I should see him at the CBU dinner in Bozo. this next weekend, I'll ask him about it.

There is a fellow in Clearwater, BC that is going to be on Dragon's Den for his invention/concept of a tilt winch or hydraulic operated sled lift deck. It is a sweet thing. You can get it in a single or dual sled system. You pull out the ramp and the deck tilts with the flick of a switch. It has a t-bar (that is connected to a winch) and it hooks behind the skis and the winch pulls the sled onto the deck.Hit the switch and the deck lowers down.Tie down the back of the sled and you are done. They are bringing him to Toronto in May for filming and I will post when it will be on TV. If anyone is interested PM me and I will get his permission for you to call him.

I got permission from the fellow in Clearwater to forward his name thru me,so if you want to contact him send me a PM and I will get you in touch with him.
