Anyone know of an access area to the Sugarloaf closer to Leavenworth than the Fish Lake snopark. I'm taking the family over this weekend and would really like to start out at that end of the trail system.

Any help would be appreciated.

AJ

do you know where the chumstick hwy is. if u do take that out of leavenworth toward plain. make a right on eagle creek go till the end. but if u have more than a two place trailor i wouldnt try it its tight. eagle creek is narrow and can be icy be carefull good luck

I have an enclosed trailer so maybe Eagle creek would be tough.

Where's Ardenvoir? Can I get a trailer in there?

AJ

If you go into Wenatchee stay on the west side of the river like you are heading to Chelan I think Its about 10 miles you will see a sign to the left
follow It to the snow park.
I have never been there but I do belive you can get a Enclosed In there.

Your trailer will be fine. Eagle creek is a two lane rd big enough for my truck and trailer. Go all the way to the end and park in the field next to the trail head. about 20 min ride to french corral:beer;:beer;

left at entiat on the entiat river road

small gas and burger stop back there also at ardenvor!!!

you can ride from fish lake on the well groomed and marked trails up towards sugerloaf then down to ardenvor to fill up on gas and have a burger. good long family ride.

That sounds like a great ride. Anyone have an estimate on mileage or how long it takes from Eagle Creek to Sugarloaf to Ardenvoir and back.

It takes about 20 minutes from Eagle Creek to French Corral and about the same time from FC to Ardenvoir. It definitely cuts out the bruttal pounding from Burgess Meadows up to French Corral. Went there on Friday and I think my azz and back are still bouncing.

There is a short cut from Burgess Meadows to Sugar Loaf. Cuts 5 miles off of the trip and adds a little excitment. Tried it Saturday. Not for the family ride though. Looks like a little clearing was done during the Fall.:rolleyes: Happy hunting.

That is a fun little adventure. Haven't been up or down that shortcut in about 3 years due to the riders we have had with us. Last time I took my wife down it she wasn't too happy with me. Was pure ice most of the way down so you pretty much bobsledded the whole way down. I told her she did an awesome job not hitting anything down through the trees but she wasn't amused. :eek:;):beer;

you can get into eagle creek. just don"t block the road. the field next to the snowpark is plowed and you could park a semi there. the road is not bad and if you are looking for a fast ride from leav. to sugar you can"t beat it. Just remember that Van Creek is a cold mother.

Do tell more! I know the Maverick Saddle shortcut, but this sounds new...

Heading up tonight to check out the damage...

I plan on riding up to Sugarloaf tomorrow and Saturday if the weather is good. The road to Trinity had many trees on it before the rain, I’m sure unless the FS helps it will be a while before the groomer is out that way. I hope the snow slid off the new roof before it got too heavy:eek:

I know the Mad River blew-out, but still hoping that there was just enough snow to build a little base up top!
