A 4 foot straight edge and a die grinder. Decide how much you want to taper and cut it off.

You hardly EVER hear of anyone doing this anymore. Not since the RMKs came out in about 97 or 98.

That yammie looks sweet arse man! So in other words, this is an easy undertaking. Thanks to everyone for the information.

It is really easy to do. But if you look at the Yamaha pictures you can see he had some fabricating to do on the rear brackets. So be prepaired to make new brackets and get the hole back in the right spot. Just a heads up.

And measure that 5 times...take a break for an hour and come back later to remeasure before you EVER do any cutting or mounting that drop bracket.

LOL

What he said, and as far as 97, 98 Polaris goes I think all the sleds up to 04 could use tunnel work.

The 156 track and tunnel taper was a huge benifit to the old 98 PS.

Have a whole new spin on the tail-taper... kinda a VanAmburg style. No change on the skid w/ drop brackets. A sawzall, cutting wheel, straightedge and 2 truss brackets from Lowes or Home Depot... will get some pics up in a week or 2...
