I have a 1996 Ski-Doo, I'm not completely sure what the hood is made out of but it is not fiberglass. Anyway, it has about a 2-3 inch long crack in it down on the bottom right side. Is there any way to fix it or do I just have to buy a whole new hood.
Thanks for any help

Those hoods usually don't crack, they tear

YOu might be successful to take it to a body shop and get it repaired.

The composite is difficult to mend without racking...

Stitch 'er up and go frankenstein!!:D

check out fiberglassforums.com

They have lots of products and knowlegde on repairing plastics, composite materials and fiberglassing. You will have to do a little digging....

First off is to drill a hole at the end of the crack to keep it from growing, then ski-doo suggests I think a loc-tite brand glue. They cover it in there manual.

go to ur local body shop they have a 2part apoxy that is called duramix . thay can squeeze a little on the back side of the hood and use a lil mesh matting to fix it . or u could go to ur local paint store and buy some and rent /barrow there duramix gun to mix it 4 u

Go to Napa and get some plastic weld ( a two part epoxy) put it on and around crack and then lay some fiberglass cloth over it and push it into the epoxy good. may put some more epoxy on top of cloth. Do all of this on inside of hood.

Seriously

DUCT TAPE

Classic timeless and shows you're not some wussy showboat that needs to "look all polished up".

Go trailer park on that MF.
