anyone know how to change a clutch spring??

So im looking to get a new clutch spring for my 97 super sport, not sure what kind of clutch it has all i can find on it for markings are, Polaris USA and some numbers, anyways, my clutch engages now at about 3600 rpms, im looking for something that engages around 4200-4300 or so, so im guessing i need a new spring, right now my spring is red. ive found 4 springs, white gold red and black, not sure how color has to do with the firmness of the spring, ill include the links. so first off, what spring should i get, and how do i put it in my sled? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

The color of the spring indicates the installed and compressed pressures. You need to look at the Polaris spring chart to see what pressure you already have. Also does it rev up to the proper rpm on the top end? If it doesnt then you may just need a new red spring. If your top end is hitting the correct rpm then you need a spring with more installed pressure and the same compressed pressure.
Again the color is the indication of what a springs pressures are.

To change the spring you dont have to pull the clutch but I would almost bet your clutch hasnt been pulled an inspected much on a 97 fanner.
Get a clutch puller and take the center bolt out of the clutch. Should be a 13/16.
Use a clutch holder to keep the clutch from spinning. (You can use a wooden dowel or a hammer handle in a pinch. Slide it through the clutch towers and brace it against the shock tower)
Apply a little grease or oil to the threads and e d of the puller.
Thread the puller into the clutch. Crank hard on the dang thing. When the clutch comes off it will pop off with a big bang!
If it hasn't been off in several years it may take some persuasion to get off.
Then you can take the 6 nolts holding the cover out. Take your time and remove them all slowly and evenly. This is so the cover doesnt bend or bind.
While it is apart inspect the weights for free up and down movement and no sideways movement.
Next check the rollers for free rolling but no slop pr flat spots.
Check the moveable sheave that it zlides up and down nut doesnt move laterally on the shaft.
Check for excess space or play between the drive buttons and the tower sides.
After ensuring that everything is in good shape, you can put the new spring in.
MAKE SURE TO ALIGN THE Xs!
There is an X on the cover, the spider and moxeable sheave. You might have to look for it but it is a cast in X in the metal.( Once you find it you will.know what I'm talking about.)

Make sure you align the Xs and reinstall the 6 bolts. You can press down on the cover and start 3 of the bolts then tighten them all down evenly.

Reinstall the clutch on the crank. Dry, no oil or anything. Wipe the crank off good and wipe out the clutch. Tighten the clutch bolt and reinstall the belt.
Start the motor. Make sure it moves and works correctly.
After a few minutes retorque the clutch.
