This guy owes me $850 bucks and seems to have vanished. Does anyone in Calgary know this guy. He will not answer my emails or phone calls?

I bought a sled off of him and we agreed on half and half for the cost of rebuilding the motor on the sled. After I found out it wasn't rebuilt as he stated it was at time of sale. And now he disappears. I am not impressed.

or maybe this guy?

from the university directory.... call him at work and let him know you know where he works... chances are that he'll pay up as he's not likely to walk away from a union gig at the university.

tell us how it pans out!!:D:beer;

Hello Guys,

Well one year has passed since my deal with this dead beat. I ended up being able to do nothing with it since it happened in Alberta and I am in Saskatchewan, court would have to be there where the transaction took place. What had happened was he had the sled for sale 2006 polaris IQR mod tripple with a 156" on kijiji advertised as having a freshly rebuit motor crank, boring, pistons. I bought the sled and the motor broke a ring within 5 miles of driving it. I tore it down and the motor wasn't rebuilt he just stuck a new piston in it, same one that broke on me. I contacted him on what had happened and he said yes he only changed a piston. I told him that it was not legal for him to have it advertised and sell it to someone with false information like he had and that I had talked to a lawyer about it. So we agree on going half and half on the repairs for the proper rebuild he said he need 2 weeks to refund me as he had already spent the money on a different sled. I tryed to contact him about it a few more times over the next month and he had a lawyer send me a letter trying to sue me back. Basically let it go wasn't worth the fight over a $2000 bill.

So don't deal with this Loser.
Thanks for your interests guys

buyer beware. didn't you find out who, and where sled was rebuilt, before laying out hard cash. sorry for your loss, but i'd say you got suckered, maybe get someone to go with you on your next purchase.

Hey smart *** you don`t know all the details to this. He gave me pictures etc of the motor all apart and going back in the sled. I thought that was proof enough for me. Getting pictures else where like the original pictures he received when he bought the sled on snowest the year before did him wonders. I did a lot of investigating to find the original add on here, from the year before when he bought it and yeah they were old pictures. My buddy reconized the sled when he saw it for the first time thats how I got a lead to look on hear for it. My lawyer said that was all the proof I need to take him to court and win but the costs of having to drive out there 7 hrs away to deal with this wasn`t worth it in the end. Plus being near sued back.
I am just warning you guys to beware of this guy. Take your smart *** comments else where. I am a licensced GM Mechanic and have been for 10 years now.

seems like pretty harsh comments there big, basically it's buyer beware, just suggesting maybe more info on who rebuilt motor, and maybe a few phone calls to check it out. maybe cool the name calling a little bit. see you are a gm mechanic, not a sled wrench, may be a little different for ya. pictures, not sure how that would help, maybe a minor engine tear down or inspection, anyway better luck next time

alot of people rebuild their own engines, its not rocket science , thus for there would be noone except the seller to talk to about the rebuild, not much els you can do except trust the guy, a compression test would give you a better idea but unless he would be willing to let you pull it apart and have a look before you purchase you would never know, most would not be willing to do that.

meakin46 thanks for making the points for me I haven't been online in a while. That is all very true. Yes I got screwed over I think we all know that already imdoo'n not sure why your still trying to point that out. This site is supposed to be helpful all I am trying to do is make people aware of what went wrong with this deal and that this Steve Wright guy cannot be trusted and to be-aware that he knows what he is doing when it comes to screwing guys over. I believed the pictures etc and everything that I was given but when it comes down to it you have to make your own call on this kind of stuff, yes its a buyer beware sold as is deal in most cases like this. But should the seller be untruthful to make the sale you got him in court if you can prove it but in the end it may not be worth it as in my case. Thanks.
