ANYONE HAVE THERE DET SENSOR GO OFF? OR TPS ISSUES?

-are there (non turbo) 2011/12 pros out there hitting the det sensor at all?
-also,,,,anyone have any tps (throttle position sensor) problems?
-hard starting?
-weird idle?
if you have had any of these problems , how did you fix it? thanks in advance!
cheers.

Most had a Weight Problem in Primary..

need To add Weight..

Aka.. if running say 60 Grams now.. Try 62 Grams..

Weird idle.. issue. easy fix.. throttle cable streached. out..

Theres a adjuster at the handle bar area on cable. take out a very little slack..

Also.. You may want to read a little more..

As This has been covered many times over..

Hard starting

My 2011 had a hard starting insure and would not go into reverse when engine had warmed up. Had to pull recoil rope Very firmly and all the way to the end 2 to 5 times to coax the engine to start. Quite difficult when you are out of breath from helping my Ski Doo buddies get unstuck lol haha
Took sled to Polaris dealer and problem was diagnosed as a faulty ECM ECU (cdi)

DET Issues

I just got my 12' out for the first time this last week out in Wyoming from zero miles to around 350 miles I had the DET light up three times. It was never a weight issue as it happened at cruising speed around 6000-6500 rpms. I dont know for sure because im not running any type of fuel programmer to monitor this but it seems theres still a lean spot in the mid-range on these things. It only happened when i got lazy with the throttle. It i feathered it while cruising it was fine. When the light comes on just shut down and re-start. OF COURSE... when/if this does happen you need to check your engine for damage. Check your spark plugs, and the top of your pistons also which can usually be done with a small light through the spark plug hole (at least well enough to keep you on the trail) I always carry a flexhead streamlight for these kinds of things.

in the last week i've replaced 4 TPS... all because of moisture getting in the plug. so far the only way i can see the moisture getting in is through the seal the wires come through the plug. when the wiring harness is zip-tied to the sensor, it pulls the wire to the side, then condensation from the inside of the rubber boot follows the wires into the TPS...

gohisk1

gohisk1, did your dealer totaly replace your ecu, or did they just reflash it? and did it act up on you all the time or just once in a while? like when it got up to operating temp? mine only dose it sometimes when its warm!

This one is classic for not enough weight in the primary. They hit the det in the midrange and not the topend. Add some wight and see what happens.

these sleds do run hot in the midrange factory too... my egts have gotten perrrrty warm before without me paying attention.
-- although its most likely a clutching problem... my brothers 155 ran perfect with 60s, mine with 61s would det like crazy - didnt notice it hitting 8500 tho - I put a set of 63s in there and never had a problem since.

My 2011 Pro 163 only idled at 1500 RPM. Mechanic/dealer came out to house, hooked up to computer, and turned the idle up to 2000 RPM. Quick and easy.

Weight

Im another one for adding a little more to the primary weights. Same issue with over rev couldn't see it on the tack but it was there on the playback. Added 2 more grams and pulling 8200 have not had an issue since.

Dealer replaced ECU from Donner sled and all was well. Ordered new and installed under warranty.
