anyone have damage to the out side of a QD belt yet?

I know this should probably be in the drivetrain section, but I wanted to get more looks

in preseason inspection I noticed the out side of my QD belt has a section about the size of a dime where the outer lamination has let go. Not sure if something hit it or its about to fail. Pics will follow when I get it back in the work shop with some decent light this weekend

This is my second QD belt, first went at 700 miles due to operator error, ice in tunnel and stripped some cogs

Sled is now at approx 2300 miles

The only damage I have noticed on my belt is where the belly pan has contacted the belt. Either while stuck or sidehilling. It has touched the outside 1/2 inch or so. I put a VEI Skidplate on it, so no more contact.

I am starting to think it is skid plate related. Outer 1/8-1/4" has a different look to it like its been rubbing on the pan in that spot, also noticed a couple broken rivets on the bellypan to tunnel

This is exactly what was happening on my sled. I put the same Van Amburg on mine. They call it the Polaris Pro Belt guard fits 2013's and 14's for $59.95. Its easy to put on and covers below the belt that the skid plate doesn't. No problems after putting it on and my sled spends 1/2 its life laying on one side of the sled and 1/2 on the other side hilling and tree hugging lol
