We are heading down to Whistlin' Jack's on friday, anybody been up there last weekend that can give me a report?:beer;

I rode Manastash last Saturday, it was very wind blown up top, lots of rocks on or just below the surface on southwest exposures and lots of bottomless powder on leeward sides. Fog plagued us most of the day so not much fun but better than working. Rode down to Jacks and the sun came out, ain't that just the way it goes.

17 of us rode out of S Cle Elum thru Taneum Creek and played north of the Manastash ridge of on Sunday. Great day with lots of sun. The snow was good but we still need better coverage, lots of exposed stumps and rocks. A large group of us are heading to Whistlin Jacks this Saturday and riding back on Sunday :beer;.

TD, I will be heading up the ride to WJ friday and comming back on Sat.. I ride a D8 163" and will have 18 with me. See ya on the trail.:beer;

Rub It In Augy....rub It In!!!

Hope Fully This Weekend Will Give Me A Chance To Iron Out The Kinks On The Bastardized Stepchild

Auger'in,

Looking forward to the ride, what time are we meeting up? Oh that's right I wasn't invited..... just kidding you guys have a great time. Don't be too tough.

Did a 72 mile ride today (Thursday).......Trails are groomed well, snow is starting to set up so you can get off the trail some. Still many stumps to be found. Been windy lately, so, big drifts on the ridge tops. Not a cloud to be seen today....The two of us didn't see another sled all day!!!!!!!

:):):)rode out of manastash sno park today , barber springs, cross country to bald mt area, than down to squaw rock for lunch, back to the top and back into the bowls, caught the groomed trail back to the sno park,about 70 miles,,,,,,,,,good grooming from sno park to the top,,,,but the 1701 or 1702 down to rock creek had not been done,,saw the groomer heading up 410, so they may get it done tomorrow nite......great day all sun and lots of stuck, but worth the trip, we saw 3 riders all day........................another big group of cascade drift skippers about 20 leaving my place on saturday for an overnight to squaw rock.....:face-icon-small-hap

Great ride! The groomers over there have to be the best in the state. We got off trail up on top and had a blast, the snow was setting up a bit but you could still break into the fluff. The folks at Wistlin Jack's were as great as ever and made it anouther great stay. Next year we are going to stay two nights and go explore the erea around 410.:D

Lolo, like THE Lolo! The snow get's a little thin over by 410, but with a little common sense it was great up top. Sound's like DJ and the whole gang must be going with you. Have fun:beer;

hey auger do you have map or special route you guys do? Let me know,because i have never done this ride.
(when in doubt throttle out)

2 ways from the Cle Elum area:

1) Buck Meadow, Tri-Pod meadow, Devils Slide and ride the road to Whistlin Jack.

2) Buck Meadow, east on S. Fork Manatash Creek Rd to Barber Springs Rd, up to Manastash Ridge, go west a bit to the groomed road, then down Upper Rock Creek past Bald Mtn and turn off to the west toward Devils Slide area. (This route is groomed all the way - longer, (about 70 miles from S. Cle Elum) but good if you have beginners in your group...
