Anyone Have a Personal Contact at GoPro?

Started getting pink videos with my Hero 2. Did some research, looks like its a known problem, especially in cold weather. Emailed pink clip to GoPro with serial number, etc. Received camera as a gift, so I don't have the receipt. They denied warranty claim due to lack of receipt and instead offer 20% off a new camera once I send them my old one. Garbage.

Anyone have a personal contact with them? Not a good way to due business!!

I have a Hero 2 as well and I get pink videos randomly as well...so much so that I stopped using the stupid thing!!!

If it's a known issue then pi$$ on them for not doing something about it!

the hero 2? how old is this product? 2-4 yrs old?

I have this problem too and yes, it is a known issue. Seems to be very susceptible to "pink screen" when powered on in cold (below freezing).

Make sure that you have updated your camera to the latest firmware. Some are saying that this has fixed this issue for them. I've done the update but not yet been able to test, so I can't vouch for this fix myself yet.

Ah Yes the PINK SCREEN.
Had this problem with 2 Contour Cameras.
Never could get either one of them fixed.

Just bought the Hero 3+ Black, hoping I don't see any more PINK.

how bout the battery life on the hero 2,i have the backpack even and yeah its unusable in "colder" weather,power it on a couple minutes later the batteries are "dead"

haven't heard the 3 to be any better

Well....I think something is not right then. I have the battery backpack and can fill my 16Gig SD card before the battery(s) are dead.

crap batteries?maybe check out interstate for replacements?
