Anyone have a Husqvarna, Toro or Honda snowblower?

Looking for a new blower, those are the 3 brands I can get local. Like the Honda but big $$ and no availability. Don't know much about the others....so if someone has one, tell me what you like and don't like. Would you buy the same brand again? Would be looking at the larger models....28-30" wide 9 hp++

Thanks in advance,

Jason

Avoid the ones that 'don't' have the hydrostatic trans - like the Honda. We got a great deal at the BX for a 10 horse - box store type blower good motor but the trans is junk. When it's cold the friction wheel doesn't bite against the larger fly wheel. It's a complete PITA and everytime I use it, I just think American POS engineering (the motor's Jap).

Save your money and get the Honda. In a couple years, I'm going to sell this one we have and get a Honda that will drag me around.

I have a "bigger" Honda with the hydrostatic transmission. Mine is wheels, not tracks. I don't rememeber the model # off the top of my head, but this thing kicks some serious a$$. Great power, love the hydrostatic drive, and around 10 years of (literally) trouble free use. Started on the first pull when I took it out of storage last week, as it has every other year.

Would recommend it in a heartbeat.

If you want local (which is smart imo) don't forget about your closest Deere dealer. The good thing about them is you'll be able to get parts forever.
If you're into serious snow (like you probably get in Nelson) - get one on tracks.

No Deere dealer local unfortunately.

Definetly going to be a Hydrostatic model in whatever brand. I think I just crossed the Toro off the list cause no hydro option. I just sold a Craftsman with friction disc drive and lets just say there's lots of room for improvement over that unit.
