any feedback on the new stock 2010 shorty arctic cat seats, thinking of buying one, sat on one they seem confortable but how about real world.

I think it would be 100% better if it wasnt cut off at that stupid 45 degree angle. The two times I've rode it I have noticed when jumping from one side to the other I seem to step on that spot where the seat should be. Im used to using the back of the seat as a foot guide down to the running board.
Mabey I'll get used to it someday. Or just switch to Boss off of my 07.

love mine, seat is cut just at the right spot so you don't have to lift your foot over it. didn't seem too slick when i sat on it for lunch;) i did bevel the storage opening, the plastic edges are a little sharp!!!

Boss seat is way lighter, and not slipery and cheaper. Weighed my boss seat and my buddies Cat seat and my boss seat came in at 4 lbs lighter than the cat seat

The Boss isn't cheaper but probably a better deal now that there prices have come down.

not sure on weight but I like it better than stock seat. better on my knees for sure. I stand alot so for it being slick when covered in snow don't matter for me.;) had one short woman try hubbies m8 and kept catching her foot on seat when going from one side to other. other than that its an great seat

coming from the BOSS Cat seat, this seat is ten times the Cat BOSS. i absolutely hated the Cat BOSS seat that came on my 09 HCR. it was stiff as stiff could be. had less storage, and took up too much tunnel space. not only that, one of my fuel cans leaked a bit....destroyed the adhesive for the velcro....seat started fallin off!
nearly broke my back (not kiddin) doin a small 20ft drop! the landing was a little harder than anticipated, *** came down on the rock hard seat, jammed my back right up to my neck (helmet didnt help) had a kink in my neck all winter long could barely walk for 2 days.
the 2010 seat went on this summer and i have about 150 miles on it so far. they hit a home run with this seat. more storage, better looks, able to put on the Doo tank and still have room for my back pack and snowshoes on a 153". it is ten times more comfortable and as for the slippery comments...it is, but i prefer that. i am constantly molesting this sled..lol. YES its heavier 10.5lbs vs 6lbs for BOSS but seriously you dont feel it. it still feels like a ton when stuck!!:D

all the posts seem to be correct imo. slicker than snot when snow is on it.
storage is great and surprisingly dry. i weighed my boss seat when i swapped
and on a bath scale, the boss was 4#'s and the cat was 8#'s. maybe 5 & 10
but i think it was4 & 8.seems like the foam could be stiffer towards the tank
end. its like the boss, the area your sack lays seems to break down fast and
cause me to slide a little further forward and down from where i would like to sit.

when someone comes up w/ a non slip cover for this seat, i am on it.:beer;

some comparison pics for you..

I like the fact that you can carry your spare fuel closer to the center of the sled, instead of being all tail weight. You gotta get a little pine pitch on the seat, then you won't slide around so much!

Too bad those SLP covers cost almost as much as the seat itself. I might consider them if they were $60 or $70, no way for $150!

My question is: is the foam on the new seats soaking up water like a sponge and increasing the weight of the seats after riding? The seat foam looks fairly exposed in several areas.

Has anyone done a before ride and after ride weight on the new seat when riding in deep powder?
